Ruben D'Artagnan Gonzalez, co-concertmaster of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and pianist Susana Mendelievich reached a crossroads in their careers while living in Chicago.

The road both chose at that intersection - a philosophical search into their souls - eventually brought them together musically and led them to collaborate with oboist Mariano Krauz of the Argentine Symphony Orchestra in composing the opera "Stacked Deck" - which will be premiered in the Teatro Avenida in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on June 26.
