Before ACT UP, before Gay Men's Health Crisis, before The Destiny of Me and The Normal Heart and even Faggots, Larry Kramer made movies. And while the legendary author and activist was nominated for an Academy Award for his screen adaptation of D.H. Lawrence's Women in Love (a film he produced as well as wrote), his distinguished film career often gets short shrift in light of his later accomplishments.
