YORK has been chosen as one of the filming locations for a new 13-part television series of Robinson Crusoe.
Filming for the dramatisation of Daniel Defoe's famous novel will take place at the Guildhall, St William's College, Fairfax House and various riverside locations.
The production is also being filmed in South Africa and the Seychelles and is the first television remake of the story since 1964.
