Alice was in Sunderland for a Mad Hatter's tea party with a difference.

Youngsters dressed as their favourite characters from Lewis Carroll's famous books to enjoy a Fairtrade tea party at Sunderland University.

Nursery children were invited to the Murray Library on Chester Road for the party, which was organised as part of Fairtrade Fortnight.

The children, all aged under four, are from the University of Sunderland's St Mary's Childcare Centre and dressed as their favourite Alice in Wonderland characters to enjoy the tea party with Fairtrade biscuits, cakes and ...
