Gyre & Gimble Ltd is a 1,350-sq-ft gift shop in Hermosa Beach, CA, that is owned by Leslie Newton. The store is located in a pedestrian plaza and has three walls of windows, which Newton decorates extensively. Gyre & Gimble carries a wide range of relatively exclusive giftware and specializes in anything with a seaside theme. The store benefits from two city-sponsored street fairs and a Christmas-tree lighting every year, events that ensure much foot traffic. While the store's name has origins with Lewis Carroll, Newton says that most younger customer are unable to make the association.
