In Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland," Alice falls down a rabbit hole and encounters a gaggle of surreal and improbable characters. In director Nick Willing's made-for-television version, to be aired Sunday night at 8 on Channels 7 and 10, those characters are played by a first-rate cast (Whoopi Goldberg as the Cheshire Cat and Martin Short as the Mad Hatter), and a handful of creatures made by Jim Henson's Creature Shop. They all help Alice (Tina Majorino) along on her journey toward adulthood.
