MINISTERS were yesterday accused of using "Lewis Carroll logic" after asking a scientist who is leaving Scotland to attract new talent back into the country while he is overseas.

The attack came following the appointment of the internationally renowned cancer specialist Professor Sir David Lane as the Scottish Executive's first "ambassador".

As part of the unpaid role, Sir David, who is leaving his post at Dundee University for a two-year sabbatical at a leading research institute in Singapore, is expected to sell Scotland to researchers and academics and help reverse the threat of a "brain ...
