More student counselors needed

AS A PUBLIC SCHOOL PARENT, the Tribune's April 26 article "Report: Students lacking counsel," about the lack of guidance counselors in our public schools, hits close to home. The article exposed yet another facet of the deprived situation in our public schools today.

Being fascinated by the history of the Oakland middle school my children have attended -- Bret Harte Middle School -- I enjoy browsing through old yearbooks to catch a glimpse of the school in its former days.
