Faye Gaberman, 86, a Chicago public school teacher for 25 years, died Sunday in a Los Angeles nursing home.

Mrs. Gaberman taught at Bret Harte School on the South Side and Alfred Nobel School on the Northwest Side from the 1930s through the early 1950s.

Both Mrs. Gaberman and her late husband, Dr. Peter Gaberman, who was a professor of medicine at the Chicago Medical College, had close ties to Roosevelt University. A Peter Gaberman scholarship fund exists there to help needy students.

She retired in 1954 and moved with her husband to the Los Angeles area.
