UNIVERSAL CITY - Thirteen educators - including four from the San Fernando Valley region - were honored Friday by the Los Angeles County Office of Education as Teachers of the Year.

Stephen Franklin, a Sun Valley Middle School teacher, was among the honorees along with Castaic Middle School teacher Alison Hunsaker; Linda L. Strong, a first- and second-grade teacher at Bret Harte Elementary School in Burbank; and Kim Labinger, a fourth-grade teacher at Glendale's Thomas A. Edison Elementary.
