Libraries in L.B. to extend hours

LONG BEACH - Readers will have more time to rummage through bookshelves, as six libraries will soon be open an extra day.

Starting Feb. 3, the following five libraries will be open on a Tuesday-through-Saturday schedule:

Alamitos Library, 1836 E. Third St., (562) 570-1037;

Bret Harte Library, 1595 W. Willow St., 570-1044;

Brewitt Library, 4036 E. Anaheim St., 570-1040;

Burnett Library, 560 E. Hill St., 570-1041;

Dana Library, 3680 Atlantic Ave., 570-1042.

Also starting Feb. 3, the North Library, 5571 Orange Ave., will be open Monday through Saturday.
