City National Bank, a private and business bank with branches statewide,
donated $100,000 to the Governor's Book Fund benefitting 20 school
libraries in Los Angeles, Ventura and San Bernardino counties.
As part of its "Reading Is The Way Up" literacy campaign, the bank gave
$5,000 to libraries at schools such as Albert Monroe Middle School in
Inglewood and Bret Harte Prep and Markham middle schools in Los Angeles.
First Lady Sharon Davis is an honorary member and board chair of the
Governor's Book Fund.
