Anthony J. "Tony" Hope, the son of late entertainer Bob Hope and former head of the National Indian Gaming Commission, has died in a hospital near his home in Washington, D.C., his sister said in Los Angeles on Wednesday. He was 63.

Hope died Monday at Washington Hospital Center after a brief undisclosed illness, Linda Hope said. It comes nearly a year after the death of Bob Hope, who was 100 when he died of pneumonia at his Toluca Lake home on July 27, 2003.

Tony Hope made a run in politics in 1986.
