Bad things can happen to good people. For example, over a thousand American workers will lose their jobs today. And tomorrow. And the next day. With luck, none of them will be you. Or me.

But look around, with your eyes wide open. Yes, the economy is humming. But this is the no-fault era when workers get downsized, right-sized, lateralized, surplused, laid-off and re-engineered. Call it what you like, people are still losing jobs!
