Huxley, Sir Julian Sorell (1887–1975), biologist and writer, brother of Aldous Huxley . He published a small collection of verse, The Captive Shrew and Other Poems of a Biologist (1932), which shows, though less vividly than some of his scientific works, his keen interest in and love of the natural world, particularly of birds. He was professor of zoology at King's College, London, 1925–7, professor of physiology in the Royal Institution, 1926–9, and secretary of the Zoological Society, 1935–42. Like his grandfather T. H.
