David Auburn's Pulitzer Prize-winning "Proof," opening at the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park Thursday, is a kind of "intellectual Agatha Christie," according to the actress playing the troubled lead character.
"My character Catherine's father died about a week ago," said Jessica Lancaster. "He had a mental illness and she had been taking care of him for four years. He was a mathematical genius -- like the Einstein of the math world."
