(1921)

This delightful little novel features a haughty hen on her farm, a small, funny, but often narrow-sighted world. Each chapter is a story in and of itself, but this does not harm the fluidity of the book. It teaches about perception and humility, but also never fails to entertain. It should be considered timeless. --Submitted by Y. Veitz
