The Sound and the Fury is an excellent book but I am not sure I want to re-read it again at this moment.

Sorry Sche but it was on my TBR list! Thought it might be popular. Hopefully get more of a discussion going than THHGTTG provoked, despite it being ace.
T for Tea.
The Sound and the Fury....Hm..I guess I'll make a stab at this book.

It doesn't have to be Faulkner, you know...

Is The Sound and the Fury a good choice for a first-time Faulkner reader?

I've tried to read TSATF before and wasn't really in the mood for it, so i'm quite up for this one. Now i just have to locate it in my flat![]()
This is my favourite Faulkner novel, but I think no Faulkner novel is an easy first read.
The multiple narrators and stream of consciousness style will be confusing, but I would stick with it. And the book benefits from repeated readings.
I'll join in, but I won't be able to start re-reading the book until mid-December.
Thanks, Pip. I've been intending to read Faulkner for the longest time, so hopefully the discussions should help, if I find time to read it.
