**Why are we doing this interview thing?**
Because answering questions about myself satisfies a certain narcissistic streak.

I don't know who he is, but it must have been Wolfgang.
**Whose footprints would you find in the fridge?**
My dad's.
**So, how old are you?**
17
**If you had a personal theme song what would it be?**
I don't know any songs silly enough to describe me, but I'd love to live my life to the strains of Handel's “Music for the Royal Fireworks”. I could never be grumpy or impatient while hearing that glorious music.
**Are you male or female? **
Female.
**What makes you keep coming back?**
The knowledge and discussion of literature. The great people I've met here.
**Are you happy with the way things are here?**
For the most part. Things could always be improved because it's such a big forum and we get so many new members.
*Should JBI get an + beside his name?*
I'm not sure if that would indicate approbation or censure, but he probably deserves a little of both. ; )
**Which countries have you visited?**
The United States.
**Which languages do you speak?**
English and my own mangled form of the same.
**How do you like your home town?**
I usually live in the country and my family has moved a lot, so I don't really have a home town.
**If you could live somewhere different, where would it be and why?**
Somewhere warmer, though I haven't decided what suits on that front. Temperatures aside, Prince Edward Island or Scotland.
**Do you have any pets?**
Yes. A cat, a dog and two neighbor dogs who think they have two families.
**What makes you happy?**
Handel's music, sunlight, September, dogs, books, poetry, kindness, laughter, sunflowers, beauty in nature, friends and family, eloquent and inspiring words. Many random, little things.
**What is mankind's biggest achievement, and its greatest downfall?**
Greatest Downfall: Inhumanity to man. Biggest Achievement: The rare cases of utter selflessness.
**Do you feel comfortable in your walk with God/atheism? **
No. I was raised in a family in which our Christian faith was the foundation, center, and hedge of our lives. I've started to question certain aspects of that “all or nothing” faith, and it's painful to have unresolved doubts. But I still believe in God and Christ.
**Given the option, what animal would you choose to be?**
A liger – a cross between a lion and a tiger.
**What makes you feel great about yourself?**
People who praise me excessively. Accomplishing a large load of work well. Making people laugh.
**Who inspires you most?**
The list of historical figures might be a bit much, so I'll go with the living. My grandma tops this list. She's an incredibly hard working, disciplined, frugal, loving woman, who has endured so much pain in her life, yet has become better through it and anchors every person in the family. My friends the S__ family – they're talented, intelligent, practical, intellectual, giving people. There's nothing they can't do – they're just a superior breed. ; ) Emma Thompson, who is an intelligent, hilarious, compassionate woman.
**What are you naturally good at? (Skills, abilities, gifts etc.)**
I wish I knew.
**What is the one thing you must do before you die?**
Only one? Write and publish a book.
**If you had to teach something, what would you teach?**
Here comes a shock. English Literature.
**What would you regret not fully doing, being or having in your life?**
Singing. I want to know if my voice is actually a valuable mezzo-soprano/contralto solo voice. If it is, I want to do all that I can with it.
**What method do you cherish above all others, as means to improving your life?**
I haven't improved myself sufficiently to give advice on that front.
**What one thing would you NEED to have on a deserted island if you didn't have to worry over food and water? **
Trees, for substitute company and to gaze upon.
**What are you wearing at the moment?**
Jeans, a black t-shirt with sunflowers, and a jean jacket.
**Favorite poem?**
I have so many, but for the frequency with which I return to them I'll go with Wordsworth's sonnet “The World Is Too Much With Us” and “Lines Composed a Few Miles Above Tintern Abbey”.
**First novel you remember reading on your own?**“Rose In Bloom” by Louisa May Alcott.
**What era do you find most of the books you read are from?**
Romantic, Victorian and some early 20th century.
**Favorite TV shows?**
I don't watch TV.
**If you were a king/queen for a day, what would you do?**
This is hard. I thought of schemes for education on animal and human rights and I thought of vast conclaves to hear Handel's “Messiah”. But I've settled upon giving everyone a day alone with their dog in the woods, fields, mountains, or lake countries. I don't know how much moral improvement it would effect, but... it might be good for the nerves.
**What song is in your head at the moment?**
The Overture from “Music for the Royal Fireworks”.
**Which book are you reading at the moment?**“Shaggy Muses: The Dogs Who Inspired Virginia Woolf, Emily Dickinson, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Edith Wharton and Emily Bronte” by Maureen Adams and Milton's poem/play “Samson Agonistes”.
**What is your favourite quote?**
Today I'll go with my signature. Tomorrow it will be something from Emily Dickinson.

**Favorite threads?**
The best literature discussions usually die off after a while, unfortunately. I've peaked into the blokes' thread lately and it's amusing.

Tomatoes with anything from pesto to peanut butter.

Lately it's been almost every time I come online, which can be any time.

Mumuksha, who is a great friend to me, heads the list. Others include Virgil (and family), Max, Silent Mute, Andave ya, Bien, Annamariah, and my fellow Canucks. Actually, a lot of the regulars are interesting people who I'd like to meet, so I can't name everyone.
**Last words you said out loud?**
“I think you have to do the choom-doom.” (That's a word my friend made up. We go to a lot of trouble explaining its status as a verb. )
**Last person you hugged/kissed?**
My mom.
**What question would you like to ask yourself?**

**Which one of the seven dwarves are you and why?**
I only know of them through a book about beavers that were named after them. *Grabs book * All I see is Z-Bar the mule, and Zinnia the skunk.
**What is your most outstanding feature?**
Laziness.
**If you could change one thing about the way you look, what would that be?**
I believe it's important not to encourage our society's obsession with looks. I'm quite content with nothing to be vain about.
**Which book do you wish you had written?**
Many, but I'll go with “Anne of Green Gables” this time. I know it seems 'girly', but it's actually much more than that.
**What should you be doing at the moment instead of answering these questions?**

**Describe your ideal day, please.**
The sky is that blue that only comes during September, the leaves are gold and red, the wheat fields are golden stubble, my dog is at my side and a book is in my hand. Correct that. I'm lugging around a bag of a dozen books and there are actually three dogs, a few cats, cows and horses, and yes, maybe even a few special people in the vicinity.
**Favorite movie?**
A TV movie called “Wit”, about a misanthropic John Donne scholar dying of cancer. I've only seen it once, almost a year ago, but it was so powerful I haven't stopped raving about it since!
**Last movie you watched?*“Mrs. Dalloway” or “Howards End”
*What was the best thing that happened to you during this year? *
Friendships I've made.
**If you could send one thing to the Room 101, one would that be?**
Burping.
**Are you mostly happy with life or are you still in pursuit?**
Both. Most of my unhappiness comes from my own foolish choices and failures. Most of my happiness comes from the goodness of those around me.

This is more for me, from Wordsworth. “Come forth into the light of things, let nature be your teacher.”
