Ok, Paraguay home thanks to penalties, which is good enough.

Sticking with the P theme, I'll have just 100 on Portugal.

After finding out the result of Paraguay vs Japan game, I am a little happy that I did not get to watch it; all this stress is not good for little, old heart (nor for my finger nails which are getting shorter and shorter).

Dodo> I feel your pain! Two games without games!!!! And only 10 days left... Just as soon as my holidays start, the Cup will be over.

That'll take some getting used to! What do we do??? :ack:

Spain is back in its element!

The ball possession must be something like 65 - 35.

And I am worried that Portugal will get nasty now... Whenever the going gets hard, the Portugese players become rough and faul constantly (and not always get penalised for it).

    However, go Spain!

I think they have this one now.

Meanwhile, Paul the octopus is picking Germany to beat Argentina.

    He hasn't been wrong yet...

The match was decided by an offside goal - what a surprise!

I woulda loved for Portugal to score in the last minute, right after Spain took Xabi Alonso out of the game. If the universe had a sense for irony, it woulda gotten to another penalty shootout and the Spanish coach would have hammered his head against the goal post for switching out someone who can kick penalties..

Excellent! Another one of my teams march on. Portugal far too defensive and deserve to go out.

    On July 2nd:

    Holland vs Brazil

    Uruguay vs Ghana

No bets till July 1st, please!

The choices are getting tougher and tougher.

Do you think Spain has got what it takes to reach the cup? They have been my favorite after the European Cup but now I am not sure... Are they strong enough to deal with Argentina, Brazil or even Germany?

Germany yes, Argentina maybe, Brazil probably not.

Loved the Spainish victory last night.

In terms of betting I'm filling my boots if either Brazil, Spain or Argentina win. I've gone back to the online offers and invested further. I'll post another link later if anyone is interested in doing the same, though the odds are obviously shorter than when I firsted posted the free betting money links.

Argentina probaly has shown the best game to date, but I'm rooting for the Germans. The seem likable as well as talented. The Argentinians look like a buch of ego maniacs. the Brazilians are always full of themselves, and the Spaniards look like a bunch of evil devils running up and down the field. The Germans seem elegant and upright.

Well, those red satanesk looking jerseas for one. They seem to scoot up and down the field like maniacs. For some reason when they're running they look pssessed. Maybe it's those crazy side burns that some of them wear. They also look smaller than some of the other teams and the way the run around they look like crazy animal diablos. Ever see the cartoon character Tasmanian Devil.

    Better yet, here's a clip:

The Spanish team reminds me of a bunch of Tasmanian Devils.

As promised here is a link to a selection of free bets that you can get for registering online with various bookies. Some of them require you to stake cash in return for free bets and some of them are better than others - read the small print for details. See the right side of the webpage for more details.
