I am going to go look at some German newspapers shortly.

I suspect they might mention it as well.

In case you didn't know, England won the World Cup in 1966.

You won't be laughing when they win it in 2054.

Every week in the premiership there are dodgy decisions by referees. The games often turn on them, and the pundits often discuss the decisions. It seems like a no-brainer to me. As I'm writing this I hearing the commentator on about an official's mistake which let in the first Argentinian goal. (Mexico and Argentina are almost scrapping).

    That would be Theo Walcott

He was in Fabio's squad, but hasn't shown the form this year through the premiership and in training for England. He'll still be good for the next one. He's probably glad he missed this time around!

No I think it was Michael Owen I was referring to. What happen to him?

Yes thanks Paul, I'm OK about it. Got the interest and money to look forward too and I can enjoy my opera next week without having to run into the nearest backstreet London pub for the second half anyway.

Technology for me also is a no brainer, I've said it time and time again, but Sepp disagrees with everyone in the world so they we are.

On with the show. Argentina look so sharp and would have cut us badly, even worse than 4-1.

He was injured, but I don't think he made the squad. He's also a bit older than you said. He was on his top form quite a few years ago.

Walcott was the exciting striker from 2006.

This is too funny not to share - just received this morning:

How rugby players see football players. (click pic to watch video, it seems to work)

    Stern:

While Speigel seems to be going for more of a Deutschland uber Alles look:

This is his goal in 1998.

Unfortunately he is highly injury prone and not as good as that now anyway. That was his best ever goal.

@ Scher, you missed my bet on Argentina, I posted it a bit early, right after the US game (bottom of page 48 of this thread):

I'm going to pass the England-Germany game and go all-in for the second game tomorrow:

    120 coins on Argentina.
Assuming I have 240 coins, I'll then bet

    100 on Holland

    Sorry about that, Dodo.
