Perhaps we should be investing our hard earned dosh in shares of a certain supermarket chain: according to The Independent on Friday, this chain is reporting a huge increase in the sale of garlic bread. They attribute this to people eating at home so that they can watch the footie on tv, rather than going out for a meal. The reporter also speculates that in view of this phenomenon, the expected rise in the birthrate in nine months' time - as happened after the last World Cup apparently - is now less likely to take place.....

Are you sure? Full bank job on Italy today (it's just a shame my full back is only 14) lump on.

So, Fabio's going to give a fantastc team talk, sort out the English positioning problems which will bring Rooney into the game. After a poor, but not disasterous start, England will win 3-0 on Wednesday, and go through to the next round, regaining their quaification form and status.

What a crappy performance by Italy. Give me a break. New Zealand was slow, unimaginative, and hardly moved up feild. Italy should have scored five goals and yet they couldn't. This team does not have it I'm afraid.

Neely, my young friend, I am cutting you out, I am afraid. Thinking of you and your family, I will have to ask you to wait until Friday when we get our next batch of 100 coins.

(You will thank me in future! )

I would like to thank Papaya for taking care of the game during my absence!

Bookies of the world love you!

I'd love to know how many millions of pounds & dollars the bookies took from that game.

I would have still agreed with you.

I don't follow the game and didn't watch it, but this is a huge result for NZ soccer.

The country will be in a state of celebration all day today, with this morning being an unofficial public homiday for the couple of million who would have watched it live. (about 1/2 the population)

I suspect the Italian coach may be out the back committing hara kiri this morning.
