Oh dear, not my cup of tea at all! Utterly monotonous, though not actually unpleasent - it's the sort of music you might get in an elevator... 2/10.
Hmm, how will this one fare:

"I should only believe in a God that would know how to dance. And when I saw my devil, I found him serious, thorough, profound, solemn: he was the spirit of gravity- through him all things fall. Not by wrath, but by laughter, do we slay. Come, let us slay the spirit of gravity!" - Nietzsche
Not bad, but not something I'd have on the MP3 7.5/10.

Strangely baroque and indie, a beautiful and ingenious juxtaposition.

I can't stand Colin Meloy's voice, the video quotes heavily Wes Anderson's Rushmore, have they paid the copyright? 6/10

Marginally less irritating now than it was when it was new. 4/10
Here's one that is much loved by myself and my younger daughter, Grace. It never fails to me move me to a not-unmanly tear. Sometime soon I'll post the one that's special to my elder daughter, Eleanor.
(Yes - a tear. Me. Imagine.)

I found the subtextual juxtaposition of cotton, images of African-Americans in fields and singing about the 'ole' times' to be a little bit subversive, but maybe that's just me and merely unintended. Either way, I'm not that into country anyway. 2/10
This is such a touching and haunting song, and truly a fine eulogy from one of America's greatest artists. I'm not much of a sentimental guy with music, but I usually almost cry when I hear this. Stranger than ever that this is actually a cover of a Nine Inch Nails song, it fits him perfectly and makes it extremely personal and powerful. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clq01TXQR0s

Not really my genre, but I found it rather moving. It is subtle and profound - 7.5/10.
It reminded me of this song, though they're actually quite different:

I love all kinds of music, but for some reason most country just can't appeal to me. I love the classic tracks of Johnny Cash of course, and Taylor Swift is quite nice, but most of it just doesn't connect to me unfortunately. Love folk though, lol. 2/10
