Come on Alice![]()
Alice is--or will be an interesting book to talk about. Not only that it's filled with scientific riddles but is also a book from the literary nonsense department.

They say darkness is evil; then why does everyone fight in light?
I re-read Alice again only a couple of years ago so not very keen on it at the moment.
Empire Falls, on the other hand...![]()

hmmmmm....why can't I vote?
Haven't participated in awhile, having moved and had baby #6 in October--but my vote goes to Bridge of Sighs--one of the best written, least read books in contemporary literature!
I would like to participate, too. And Alice would be great. =)

"Personal note: When I was a little kid my mother told me not to stare into the sun. So once when I was six, I did. At first the brightness was overwhelming, but I had seen that before. I kept looking, forcing myself not to blink, and then the brightness began to dissolve. My pupils shrunk to pinholes and everything came into focus and for a moment I understood. The doctors didn't know if my eyes would ever heal."

Let's read something that has not been tried... Something that hasn't been sitting on the shelves for centuries...

Thanx.
Well, I recently saw the movie (Yes, it thematises the second book - "Through the Looking-Glass"- not "Alice in Wonderland", but it was nice anyway and in 3D really cool.) and thought, that I could read the books again. So I am going to read it one way or another. =)
I don't think, that I will manage 50 posts within this month. I got lots of work to do at the office.
We will see which book wins.
