Good morning, Nightshade and Lacra - just back from Egypt: came to conclusion that water there is 'hard' as I had to use lots of soap and shampoo and ended up with soapy scum in the basin. My skin is dry and flaky too, despite lots of sun cream - I'm used to 'soft' water, so it may take a while for me to get back to normal. Can't answer for the taste - we nish Brits were advised not to drink water from the tap! And yes, my nails grew - but I think that's more a case of what my Mum called "Lady's hands" - no work for a fortnight!
Hehehhe, I use to buy mineral water as I am afraid to drink water from the tap. The same problems with the skin and I watch my Egyptian colleagues here, they have such a soft and shining skin. What did they do to look this healthy way? I have no idea! Maybe is something related to the land we are born in: the water, the air, the sun are designed to fit perfectly... I don't know...
Be great in act, as you have been in thought.

The doctors didn't know if my eyes would ever heal."

Well it really depends on where you are in Cairo, I actually preffer egyptian tap water to say english tap water, bu I wont drink it unless its filtered and even then I dont drink that unless its boiled anymore because it appears all the egyptians have stopped drinking it too, so just being safe!
I just discovered egyptian women use chickpea flour on their faces, not sure how exactly but that might contibute to the shinyness!

Hey everyone! Kinda new here. Hopefully I fit in!! Where I live is really hot and dry skin is always an issue. Some home rededies my mom told me about are: Using olive oil to massage your skin before bed or applying a mixture of egg, olive oil, a few drops of rose water and few drops of orange or lime juice for 10 mintues in the morning.
Wearing sunscreen is always helpful too. Prevention is key!![]()
I always get dry skin in the winter along the base of my ears, along the bridge of my nose, and occasionally under my eyes. I'm too lazy to do anything more than use a moisturizing lotion when it starts to get bad though.

I am a male infiltrating this thread.... I have an extreme form of atopic eczema, and as a result always have extremely dry irritated skin, the solution... use a neutral moisturiser........... abd hormonal salves, but that's a doctor's prescription and doesn't count.![]()
