    Hugs? Did someone say hugs?

You can't do hedonism and kids at the same time. The sacrifices we make...

And just where do we stop with the prophylactics: do we place them on every erect and inverted surface?
There's another good reason for being ex-hedonist - I missed all that safe sex stuff. Safe sex to me was ensuring the handbrake was on - having nearly driven down a mountain inadvertently one night - or more frequently, making sure the husband was not going to arrive home!

Good point on barriers, though. I noticed just last week that older people are now giving STDs to each other at unprecedented rates. People over 60 whose partner has died or whom they have divorced are going out and having sex, completely unaware that they might catch clamydia or gonorrhea.

    Until they develop symptoms.

Seems the only way to really approach it is: condoms until I know you well enough to trust you, or you are pronounced medically clean. I suspect the medical ticket would be a lot faster.

What a shame, and you have that whole Byron charm thing going, too
I suspect your lady, who almost caused your early demise, saw you as a young knight going after her dragon of a husband (or, perhaps, a draggin' husband)
I find that since I've passed 40; my doctors treat me like a pervert if I tell them that I am sexually active, particularly with someone half my age. On the other hand, they act like I'm just pitiful when I tell them I intend to remain single! "Oh, you'll find someone your age"
I find I can't really feel anything on the other side of a safe prophylactic: no heat, no intimacy, no shower of love...it's a bit better with lambskin; but not safer.
    What does the guy feel?

The old adage of taking a shower with a raincoat on is pretty close.

Watched a full episode of TAR tonight. I felt very rushed

"But do you really, seriously, Major Scobie," Dr. Sykes asked, "believe in hell?"
    "Oh, yes, I do."
    "In flames and torment?"
"Perhaps not quite that. They tell us it may be a permanent sense of loss."
"That sort of hell wouldn't worry me," Fellowes said.

^ The scenery and local flavor is amazing. I'm still not getting the suspense of a race though.

Was it because of the pace of the show? The challenges/tasks? The racers?

I'm not sure, I'm not getting who they are and why I should be interested in them. Maybe there should be an intro in the beginning of each episode, but I can also see how boring that would be for someone who watches every week.

^ There are intros for every team on the premiere episode. There are also confessionals throughout the entire season; I think that these are most helpful if you want get to know the racers. You can also get to know them by how they interact with their teammates, other racers, and the locals.
