Have you ever noticed how happy males get if you asked them for help? I am just saying, when I cant reach the top shelf in a supermarket I would much rather ask a man than a woman for help because they always seem so very flattered and happy and it amuses me.

The guys in my town love it if you ask them for help with physical things ("will you teach me how to chop wood?") because they're ALL labourers, but the guys at my university hate it. The university guys like it if you ask them questions ("So what exactly WAS the bay of pigs?"). It's pretty funny how they fit right in with their respective stereotypes, but I have yet to find an exception.

As for the bag: have you considered a nice, sturdy book satchel? I've got a pretty cool one that my boyfriend stole from the army cadets. It's just like this, except more tattered:

(Hey Papaya, what do you think? Fashionable, no?)

Well actually I need several. I need a "nice" black one sop that I have one whenever I need to go out,. and an everyday one. I dont like it if they look plasticky or have wierd things hanging off them. and I like thge single short wide strap so I can keep bag safley tucked away from theieves under the armpit.
But it has to be bigger on the inside than the outside so I can stuff all my stuff in it.

On the bag shop niamh is your bag that I like leather? I may have seen the exact same one on the bagshop website for 60 quid. But that is rather too expensive for me.

Night> Have a look at the bag at Next (I don't usually shop from there but they seem to have a good online sellection at the moment):

    http://search.next.co.uk/search?p=Q&...&nxtv=0&nxti=0

Tell us which one tickles your fancy.

I cannot say I really like any of them as such but if I had to choose, I would go for the Patent Tote Bag for £26 on the second page.

I always get bags with at least one outside zipped pocket so that I can find my keys and mobile without having to dive into the main compartment. And it needs to big enough to carry couple of books and a medium size pencil case.

Have you got a TKMax nearby, Night? Their bag selection is amazing and the prices are very, very good for brand items as well.
