I bet some other contributors to this thread are wondering where you got your information from.

Guilty admission: when I'm having a crappy day, I come to this forum just to look at Serious Cat and read his mission statements. Makes me laugh every time.

And really, only a truly serious cat would say "I Are". That kind of grammar means business!
I'm weary with right-angles, abbreviated daylight,
Waiting for a winter to be done.
Why do I still see you in every mirrored window,
In all that I could never overcome?

    True enough ...
    Lets take a look, then:

~ This forum is for serious discussions only.
    "Serious discussions only"

~ Serious cat does not define if discussion is serious.
    right ...

~ Moderators do not define if discussion is serious.
    Wow ... who does, then?

~ Only posters define if discussion is serious, by posting here.
    Ah ..

~ If you think someone's thread not serious enough, do not complain to Serious Cat. The almighty Serious Cat will not listen to your pleas.
Too complex to be understood; it means to be accepted. Important part: "almighty Serious Cat will not listen to your pleas" (er .. how do we contact him, anyway? Oh well, it isn't important: he will not hear )

~ Just because you don't think thread serious enough, does not mean it not serious to other poster. You just ignore if you don't like.
Fair, quite fair.~ I should put a thread on playmobil, in the Serious Discussion Forum (some know that I had my problems with certain threads around ... -- I'm REALLY trying to get over it, but it's tough, I can say ...--) But then, I'm a collector and not a child I HAVE to accept other people's thoughts.[*]

~ Serious Cat reminds you, no politics!
    (this is completely to me)

    ----

[*If moderators wish me to edit this, let me know, but I have to make a public statement of some sort, so I will try until we reach an agreement. Perhaps this will do. Someone has to understand that I are serious myself about the matter ...]

Serious Cat looks a little "effy"...
"The Lord works from the inside out. The world works from the outside in. The world would take people out of the slums. Christ takes the slums out of the people and then they take themselves out of the slums. Christ changes men, who then changes their environment. The world would shape human behavior, but Christ can change human nature." ~ Ezra Taft Benson

Me too! It's 'serious' grammar, wouldn't you say?

Makes me think of my favorite cat poem:

    love to eat them mousies
mousies what I love to eat
    bite they little heads off
    nibble on they tiny feet

And he DOES look like Hitchcock-he does!

    Yes, definitely

Ah, that reminds me of my favourite cat poem. I didn't write this, and I have no idea who did.

    "CAT HAIKU"

    You never feed me.
Perhaps I'll sleep on your face.
    That will sure show you.

    You must scratch me there!
    Yes, above my tail!
    Behold, elevator butt.

    The rule for today:
Touch my tail, I shred your hand.
    New rule tomorrow.

    In deep sleep hear sound
    cat vomit hairball somewhere
    will find in morning.

    Grace personified.
    I leap into the window.
    I meant to do that.

    Blur of motion, then --
    silence, me, a paper bag.
    What is so funny?

    The mighty hunter
Returns with gifts of plump birds --
    your foot just squashed one.

    You're always typing.
Well, let's see you ignore my
    sitting on your hands.

    My small cardboard box.
You cannot see me if I
    can just hide my head.

    Terrible battle.
I fought for hours. Come and see!
    What's a 'term paper?'

    Small brave carnivores
    Kill pine cones and mosquitoes,
    Fear vacuum cleaner

    I want to be close
to you. Can I fit my head
    inside your armpit?

    Wanna go outside.
Oh, poop! Help! I got outside!
    Let me back inside!

    Oh no! Big One
    has been trapped by newspaper!
    Cat to the rescue!

    Humans are so strange.
    Mine lies still in bed, then screams;
My claws are not that sharp.

I'm weary with right-angles, abbreviated daylight,
Waiting for a winter to be done.
Why do I still see you in every mirrored window,
In all that I could never overcome?

Nice! Poems on cats! I've still got to do one,
    myself ...

Here's Ronald Tolkien's "The fat cat on the mat"
out of _The Adventures of Tom Bombadil_ ..~

The fat cat on the mat
    may seem to dream
    of nice mice that suffice
    for him, or cream;
    but he free, maybe,
    walks in thought
    unbowed, proud, where loud
    roared and fought
    his kin, lean and slim,
    or deep in den
in the East feasted on beasts
    and tender men.
    The giant lion with iron
    claw in paw,
    and huge ruthless tooth
    in gory jaw;
    the pard dark-starred,
    fleet upon feet,
    that oft soft from aloft
    leaps upon his meat
where woods loom in gloom --
    far now they be,
    fierce and free,
    and tamed is he;
but fat cat on the mat
    kept as a pet
    he does not forget.

No, they do not. I have a fat black cat who sleeps profoundly on a mat. But he once was a mighty hunter (of small birds)

    Oh, and the haikus?

Serious cat truly does look like Hitchcock. hahaha I love it. But it also reminds me of someone else... hmmmm....

Anyway, I heard this funny quote... by Steven Wright...

"If toast always lands butter-side down, and cats always land on their feet, what happens if you strap toast on the back of a cat and drop it?”

    Any opinions on this?
