Road Trips! They always sound like fun in the beginning but about 3 hours in I'm thinking "why the hell am I doing this?" Does anybody else have "Road Trip Food"? For me it's jerky and those those starbuck bottled coffee drinks. I never even think about jerky until i'm road tripping then all of the sudden I'm in the gas station thinking "damn that jerky looks good"

Papaya, I've had terrible, terrible road trip experiences. Many of my friends are extremely hyper, and a few are diagnosed ADD or ADHD. Well, we once decided to drive from Montreal to Sudbury with my buddy Colt, who is an extreme case of ADHD.
From 555 bottles of beer on the wall to negative 398. He didn't stop singing the song from the moment he got in the car until the car stopped, and he had opened the door and gotten out.
Road trip food: Ringolos, other chips, home made cookies, loads of sandwiches in an ice box, bottled water, Iced tea, NEVER pop (warm pop is the WORST, especially root-beer, which starts to taste like socks when it gets warm...), and Tim Horton's... always.

Never!!! Thankfully! I'm always extremely meticulous about things like that. Also, I ask security and attendants about 80 0000243743287342783427832478324 times if I'm at the right place... and show up ridiculously early to make sure. (E.g. flying back to Canada from Gatwick airport, I didn't want the close call of getting the train to the airport in the morning for a 10:00 a.m. flight, security, etc... so I was there at about 8:30 the night before!
!)
Naked except for a cigarette, you let your mind drift and forget your disbelief. Feel the chill down your back and the flutter of wings through dandelion fields, and forget the pull of gravity in a night without stars.
I lack eloquence and commitment to my arguments. They are half baked, and I will begin passionately, and then abandon them.

That doesn't sound like fun at all!! I prefer the alphabet game.. it can be played for a variety of venues. My favorite is either the Dostor or the record store.

I do so miss Tim Horton's. Thats on the list of place I must go whenever I get home.

^__^ 14 hours. Yep... but I sort of like airports... they're like a little, self-contained village. Ideal for people watching. Food, drugstores, lingerie stores, bookstores. I just... really like airports. *Freak*

If you know you are going to the airport why wear shoes you can't walk in? (OK, I admit I did this once but the shoes were very cute.)
And what about newcasters?? What kind of qualifications do you need? My regular local morning station has a new newcaster that, on a regular basis mispronounces words. Shouldn't you know what you're reading before you get on camera?

I'm back from Margaritaville. On my way to Margaritaville I had a little delay at the airport, both x-ray machines were not working and TSA was checking each bag by hand. How do both machine break? at the same time???

One broke down so the other had to be used twice as much and wasn't up to it and overheated? Alternatively, they heard you were coming through and decided to do something that would really, really annoy you.....

I think that's it!!! Although, the lady in front of me was way more annoyed then I, she was telling everybody that would listen how they could be doing a better job.

we have been traveling for nearly three weeks ago on a cross-country road trip. We're now in Maryland, after spending the day in Philadelphia, where we saw the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, and Washington Square.
"The time has come," the Walrus said,
"To talk of many things:
Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax--
Of cabbages--and kings--
And why the sea is boiling hot--
And whether pigs have wings."

Funny, I haven't been around that airport recently!

Yep, Heathrow is my regular hang-out... And there is no shortage of people who could do their job better there!
