Happy Birthday Nik!!! Hope you're having a great day!!
I'm weary with right-angles, abbreviated daylight,
Waiting for a winter to be done.
Why do I still see you in every mirrored window,
In all that I could never overcome?

    Happy Birthday!

    An interview with NikolaiI:

Why are we doing this interview thing?
    I don't know the cause.

    Are you male or female?
    Male

How did you come about this site and what makes you keep coming back?
I am sure I was searching for Dostoevsky or Gogol or some such. I came back because I quickly fell in love with many of the members.

Are you happy with the way things are here?
Yes, it is a versatile and high quality group of people.

Have you visited other countries than your own and what did you like about it or not like? If you could live somewhere different from where you live now, where would it be and why?
Yes I have visited Canada for 5 months, on Vancouver Island. I strongly recommend this. It is a temperate rainforest climate, and it is so beautiful in the summer. The land is as beautiful as anything I've seen, pure, clean, the rivers are also wonderful.

To the second part, yes, I would live in India, for many reasons. One - I am Hindu and a vegetarian, and all the Indians I know are the finest of people. Two, the culture of India (Bharat) is ancient, and the deepest spiritually.

    Do you have any pets?
No, I dearly wish I had a dog or a gecko.

    What makes you happy?
Meditation, being with those I love, learning, living healthy, eating right, work, writing, being with and thinking of my beloved.

What is mankind's biggest achievement, and its greatest downfall?
Our biggest achievement is spiritual vision, our downfall is that currently there is suffering due to ignorance and apathy toward spiritual life.

If you had a long day of hard work ahead of you what music would you be playing on your mp3, while working?
Sudevi or Srimad Bhagavatam on audio.

If you could take one book, music album and one video with you to a desert island, what would they be?
Bhagavad-Gita, the Axis: Bold as Love, and Rasputin.

Do you feel comfortable in your walk with God?
God is the most important one in my life; or rather, equal as my highest desire to my beloved.

George Harrison said, and I quote somewhat frequently; "Many things in life can wait, but the search for God, that cannot wait."

For me this is the sum and theme of my life.

Which actor should play you in a movie based on your life?
    I don't know many, sorry.

Given the option, what animal would you choose to be?
A cow in the care of Govinda.

What were your favorite things to do the past? What about now? Studying, meditation, chess, walking, now about the same.

What makes you feel great about yourself?
    Truth and love.

Who inspires you most? (Anyone you know or not. Family, friends, authors, artists, leaders, etc.) Which qualities inspire you, in each person?
I have several friends who are monks who are inspiration to me. Their inspiring qualities are wisdom, sincerity, and kindness. If it can be those not living, then the list is quite long.

Percy Shelly, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Swami Vivekananda, Sri Aurobindo, Sri Ramana Maharshi, Srila Prabhupada, Mira Alfassa.

If you had to teach something, what would you teach?
    Be Happy, Don't Worry

What would you regret not fully doing, being or having in your life? Nothing.

What song is in your head at the moment?
    Medicine Buddha Mantra

Which book are you reading at the moment?
I am about to start one, And Eternity

The last book you finished reading?
    For Love of Evil

What time of day do you most often find yourself on the LitNet? Before sleep.

What are you wearing at the moment?
    Black pants and a shirt.

    Favorite poem?
    Ozymandias
    http://www.online-literature.com/shelley_percy/672/

    Last food did you have?
    Some fruit.

Last words you said out loud?
    Bekandze Maha Bekandze.

What question would you like to ask yourself?
    "Who am I?"

What would you like to be if you could change your profession? Veterinarian.

    Least favorite book/song/movie?
    God I don't know!

What was your very favorite moment in your life so far?
All life is a single moment.

Most and least favorite characters from books?
    Alyosha, his father, Fyodor Pavlovich

What would your biography be titled?
I can't tell, it's too early to tell.

The most embarrassing moment in your life?
    Ah, likely!

Which literary character (s) have you been told to resemble the most? People haven't cared enough to notice.

List some of the things that annoy you immensely.
    Greed, lust, ignorance...

If you had to lose one of your senses, which would you choose and why?
Taste. Taste and smell are both senses, right? I've heard you "taste" more by your sense of smell anyway. So I choose taste because I think that would impede me the least.

Are you mostly happy with life or are you still in pursuit?
    Both.

    What gives your life meaning?
Life itself. My trust in myself. The love of my family, the love of my beloved.

What type of Faerie would you like to be and why?
    Don't know the types.

    What makes you laugh?
    Children.

What was the happiest period of your life and why?
Right now. I know who I am.

One final word of wisdom for LitNet users?
    Know yourself.

What would you like to ask to the person to be interviewed after you?
What method do you cherish above all others, as means to improving your life?

Or perhaps, what is your favourite quote?
    ~
"It is not that I am mad; it is only that my head is different from yours.”
    ~

    Happy belated birthday!
I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of anything than of a book! When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.

Oh Nik I missed your birthday. I'm sorry. I hope you had a good one.

Great interview. I have to admit I know almost nothing about Hinduism, so I hope this picture I pulled off google has some positive significance. It looked pretty.

Otherwise, have a slice of cake.

Virgil, it's beautiful, thank you! It's a picture of Lord Krishna and Srimati Radharani (or Radha) dancing, with the gopis, (cowherd girls) in Vrindavana. Thank you very much!

And electronic imagery is always my favourite type of cake.
