I wouldn't say eccentricity is "cool", but there some types of "different" that are considered "cool". Ya diggin' all my quote fingers here? *quote fingers*

    Be yourself, and trust yourself.

Some are nice but there is just some kind of a limit as to how friendly you really would want to be with them. They are still kind of clichish and I don't really like that sort of thing. I am not really one to have a crowd of friends, never hung in a crowd. I had individual friends but they seem the opposite and have groups of friends, even to this day. They can have their little snobby club; I could care less.
That's good. The caring less part I mean. Of course you know this.

I will but I am really tired now. Late here so I am not fun tonight... with one eye open....
    Nah. You're good.

Tell her I am game! ahaha - I danced up a storm at my son's wedding - that was loads of fun. I think we did one disco song just for fun.
    Okay.

You listen to tame? get out! I bet your bedroom is always vibrating or rocking loudly. I know - I lived with a teenager, remember...I did not cry when he left home and got his own appartment - finally I could get some sleep without my floorboards banging around from the beat downstairs.
    When I feel like it.

My parents get so annoyed at me! My dad yelled at me to turn down some music when we were in the car one time, and said it was really obnoxious. Then one time I was blasting music and my dad came in and told me he couldn't hear me say "come in" when he knocked. Both times I was listening to Smart Patrol/Mr. DNA...gotta turn it up at Bob 1's guitar solos. Louuuuuudddd! Yeah! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UKtZ...eature=related *dances wildly* Mistah Kamikaze! Mistah DNA! Oh, yes. Oh, yes. It's beautiful. *sniff and a tear*

Good to hear this, means you are open to new things, new experiences. That will make you well-rounded and open-minded.
Yes, I like being that. But DEVO just ruined me, ruined me, I tell ya. I am trying, though...

Get out - who would have guessed it. I just ordered the new Magic Flute directed by Kenneth Branagh - it is Mozart's opera set to a new libretto and all in English. It is suppose to be quite good. I have really been getting into opera this year. I love my Alagna (ever hear of him) version on DVD of Romeo and Juliet - oh he is to die for - now he has dreamy blue or green eyes....just gorgeous and he is so sweet - his voice is like an angels. I also love my "Madame Butterfly" DVD of the opera. I like the drama of opera a lot.
Oh yes! I love classical music! Baroque's my favorite, probably because it's fast most of the time. I have The Magic Flute on CD. My version's in German. I actually saw that opera live down at the Hollywood Bowl. Very good.

That Alagna guy is quite attractive!

Guess what came up on shuffle just now! Act I Scene XIV No. 7 of the Magic Flute!

True country I can't get into; I do like some folk but that was from my generation so it would follow I still appreciate it. I absolutely hate rap - I can't understand a word they are saying and besides I think it is so harsh and crude and obnoxious. I have no love for the music - if one can even call it that.
Yes, that would make sense, like Bob Dylan and such.

    Indeed, I agree.

It may be...we have been having this discussion on vinyl in the Music social group this week; you should peek in and take a look at what has been said.
    Are they now? Hmmmm.

My neighbor says the same thing - says it gives it that authentic quality....I grew up with some scratchy sound so it does not bother me very much; although it has been awhile since I once again listened to vinyl. You make me want to now, for old time's sake.
    Do it!

I bought a collector tin with 64 a number of years back and have it stored away. I hope they are still good - do crayons go bad? I was going to pass it onto my grand-daughter.
I have no idea. I think we have one of those, too, for some reason. Give it to her and then buy yourself one.

Yep, dancing and beat - even my grand-daughter knows that and she is just 6 months old.
    That is so adorable!

Yes, Niamh would know about them; they are her native band. I like them a lot. She gave us some good videos to watch. I will get to those and to yours tomorrow....promise....I got side-tracked today and forgot...sorry...
She would, and I will look this all up once my back is better. Ugh. I am so sorry.

Don't worry about it! You don't even have to watch it if you don't want to! XD

Ok I will...I love videos if they are well done.
Me too. I am quite a visual person.

I still don't know. I forgot to look - leave it til tomorrow... one eyed right now...they both are drooping...
    Go to sleep!

When one is a teenager everything is intense.
    I noticed.

Maybe they are from outer space and casting a spell on you.
Probably. DEVO is my Personal Jesus, so to speak.

She is very nice but it snows too much where she lives and now it is starting again - it is very hard on her - all that heavy shoveling. I don't envy her that.
Yes, she told me about that. I'm sure it's quite hard. The poor thing!

I used to work at an antique store and sell there as well. It was great fun. It is a good soundtrack - Strauss I think -walzes....and lot of spacey sounds too - pretty awesome...
Luckily we have a gadillion of them in my town, as well as elebenty gadillion records stores in my town. (Okay, four.) Store that specialize/contain at least some vinyl.

wow, didn't even know that...good another useless 'tidbit' to float around in my spacey brain - lot of black holes up there, too!
    Don't say that!

Funny sort of word isn't it? Well he starts out being totally disgruntled with the world and he goes through a transformation by meeting up with this cute little girl who is disabled - sweet story...and touching, too...
    Aw!

Exactly - it is life and truthful...also he goes to the gynocologist with his wife - that is funny, too - seeing it from a husband's perspective.
    Awhahahaha.

Yeah, tonight I was watching some videos on Ewan McGregor and he is a good example - he has sort of unique teeth if you really observe them and it actually does add to his appeal - it makes his mouth look cute when he smiles. His teeth look shorter in the front that on the sides - it looks natural though and not like a hollywood beauty. I happen to think Ewan is a doll but of course he does sometime remind me of my son when he shows his devilish side so I can't drool over him; he is a bit young for me but still I do find him totally adorable! He seems smart and nice to and is a faithful husband and loves his wife very much so. I really admire that about him and he adores his little girls. He is a good daddy. He is also a pretty darn good actor.
Aw, he's pretty cute, too. I saw you mentioned him a couple posts back. You've seen Big Fish, yeah? "Sandra Templeton, I WILL marry you!"

That is a shame - you are too young for these problems. You should try and walk or strengthen yourself and your muscles. Sitting at computers for long hours is a very bad thing. I feel the effect of it but addicted I am and I must try to limit or I will be sick.
Yes, I know, and now I can't sit for very long at all at them. I'm quite sad and frustrated.

Good that they keep progressing. I will listen to them tomorrow. I did see part of the Astro man video - that was rather funny - quite entertaining - you sure you are not an alien presense here among us?

    They're neat-O, huh?

Who said only men were from Mars?

Well, the masses went for that song because it is catchy. Yes, probably they did not see themselves as pop artists at all.
Exactly. Most people misinterpret that song. Though I must say you can't really guess what it's about, you have to research it if you really want to know.

    That will be cool...
They're coming out with an EP next Tuesday. I pre-ordered my copy a while ago.

Really funny and crazy - quite entertaining I think...does you mother like this stuff, too....
To some extent. My dad hates my music, though. "TURN THAT *beep* DOWN!"

Yes, they are silly sometimes, maybe most times but that is just fun light music....summer music..beach stuff...meaning the Beach Boys.
Indeed. I prefer deeper music, though.

Now the Beatles I like better now maybe than back then, not sure though really - I just may forget. I was crazy on them when they first came to light. I think their middle years they lost me for awhile. Now I have a remastered CD and do enjoy them again - they were once played too often and then you got tired of them but it is fun to revive some music after time goes by. I have to be in the mood to listen to them.
I liked them when I was nine...Across the Universe really made me angry. I'm sorry. I didn't even finish that movie. It was just awful. I know that really doesn't have much to do with them, though.

That is exactly it - isolation of the individual....it is a well made film - very creative and sort of mesmerizing....you just go with it and let it happen...it is pretty awesome I think.
That does sound interesting. I'm sure my friend has it. I'll borrow it from him.

I used to listen to that but don't know what it would be like now. It was good.

Well I guess I listen to a lot of 80's/90's underground music. Some stuff from now...

Get out of here - you always looked really pretty and cute to me when you posted those photos, even with the big oversized dark glasses - those were very funky and fun!
Haha, thanks. I love those glasses...need to get a new pair seeing as they are wearing out real bad.

    Janine, don't ask!....
    And I won't answer!

    I realise that!

Mutant Ninja Turtles - do you remember those - why they just came to me I will never know....
That's a boy's show! And a bit before my time, I think. And my mother never permitted me to watch "violent" TV shows anyways. XD

Haha - you don't need to.....you are alien enough without it...
    Thanks.

Cool, tres cool! See I am good at teenage lingo.
I am too!Are you hip to the jive? Do ya dig what I'm saying with the wiggity wack low down soul sistah? Tiiiiiight. POPPYCOCK!

    I know - I still act like a teenager, don't you think?
That's cool, I act like an older person who acts like a teenager.

You are my tour guide to undiscovered gallaxies. When does the ship leave?
    When the clock strikes zero!

Heart who. Now I am lost! Going to bed, blindly finding my way now to the bedroom...been nice talking to you, but my eyes are shutting for the night....nightly night..... beam me up Scotty.......
    U2! XD Good night!

Oh! Okay, I will look, like I said, when I am all better...which means I should stop sneaking on like this.

Tomorrow always holds the promise of something new and exciting. I am the Jetsons meet the Flintstones.

Oh gosh, I should be in bed too...I have to go somewhere tomorrow; hate getting up early. Since your replies aren't too long, I will answer them quickly.

I wouldn't say eccentricity is "cool", but there some types of "different" that are considered "cool". Ya diggin' all my quote fingers here? *quote fingers*
Oh!.... if you saw my room, you would know I was eccentric. I collect everything and anything and it is getting to the point where I can't fit anymore in. I am tripping over books and DVDs, CD's - can we ever have enough??? I guess that is cool though - at least my brain gets 'exercise'.

    Be yourself, and trust yourself.
I always do. You do so it also!

That's good. The caring less part I mean. Of course you know this.
Yeah, I could care less at this time in my life - high school was like to me as a thousand years ago - barely a memory now...insignificant to me...asside from a few fond memories...

    Nah. You're good.
Thanks! I'll get to them all eventually.....just never enough time in each day, is there?

My parents get so annoyed at me! My dad yelled at me to turn down some music when we were in the car one time, and said it was really obnoxious. Then one time I was blasting music and my dad came in and told me he couldn't hear me say "come in" when he knocked. This rendition sounds exactly like my son and I. I would yell at him to 'turn it down!'...sometimes though, I would sneak into his room and we would watch videos together on MTV. He once made me a tape, of all the ones I liked. I still have it actually; so sweet of him.

Yes, I like being that. But DEVO just ruined me, ruined me, I tell ya. I am trying, though...
Don't think I like Mono actually, I never did check. Well, sometimes we do dwell on a group or artist for the longest time, and then suddenly, we need something 'new' - you will get that way eventually with Devo - wait and see, then later on you will revive your interest in them. I have done this with several groups now.

Oh yes! I love classical music! Baroque's my favorite, probably because it's fast most of the time. I have The Magic Flute on CD. My version's in German. I actually saw that opera live down at the Hollywood Bowl. Very good.
Baroque is fast - a little too jittery for me. This is why I had to write you now - I can't believe you just said this about Mozart. All evening I have been watching my new DVD of -"The Magic Flute" - the new one directed by Kenneth Branagh in English. I liked it a lot. The music is spectacular. I bought a Region 2 DVD from Amazon UK; but unfortunately, it would not play on my Region 2 player, so I had to view it on the computer. It was beautiful on here; the set designs are amazingly artistic and creative. Ken does it again! I really liked the story and the singing, acting, although I did not fully undertand. It was very entertaining and the ending is spectacular. You can view some clips on Youtube. I think it is just great that you saw it live at the Hollywood Bowl - that is such a cool place! The good thing about playing it on my computer, is that I can listen to the music only, out of four speakers, even if not viewing the film. Maybe I just did not have my selector box set right to view in on the Region 2 player; will try another day. I truly enjoyed it - good music, don't you think? Isn't it one fine coincidence that you should mention it tonight?

That Alagna guy is quite attractive!
Oh yeah, he is really cute. Downing turned me onto him. I like him in 'Romeo and Juliet' - very romantic and sexy...he wears a loose blousy type shirt - I don't know why, but men in those really turn me on. I just ordered "The Serpent's Kiss" with Ewan McGregor - he wears that period garb in that film and ouuulaaalaaa...very, very sensual. I saw clips on Youtube and I had to have the film. Alagna is gorgeous too, in 'Tosca', his film version with his wonderfully talented and beautiful wife. See all the good ones are taken! I watched the 'extras' on the "Magic Flute" and got such a treat - Ken Branagh 7 inches high - a true closeup - he looked so lifelike, I felt I could reach out and touch his face - *oh yeah, dream on Janine* - he looked good with a full beard and such blue eyes - love his eyes and his way, cute manor, plus he is such a brainy man, and creative, too. I love creative men!

Guess what came up on shuffle just now! Act I Scene XIV No. 7 of the Magic Flute!
It is definitely sychronicity or ESP!

Yes, that would make sense, like Bob Dylan and such.
Weren't you the one to post Dylan's photo here? I liked the early film I saw on him recently - hey, he was kind of cute back then....very 'deep', too. Of course, he did break Joan Baez's heart.

Indeed, I agree. Good to hear it.

    Are they now? Hmmmm.
They were, but now I think they are waiting on me to test out the deal. I will be busy tomorrow and was too busy today to dig out my records. Will have to wait a few days...weekend maybe...

    Do it!
I will definitely; I have some great stuff on records...lots of rare stuff too, but stuff that is making a comeback.

I have no idea. I think we have one of those, too, for some reason. Give it to her and then buy yourself one.
Oh maybe, but I won't use them - just want to smell them....haha

    That is so adorable!
It is an so funny too...she is really something....I will figure out how to send you the link to my file in Photobucket...you will really laugh...

She would, and I will look this all up once my back is better. Ugh. I am so sorry.
Wait til you are much better and stay off the computer! You need to heal...rest...

Don't worry about it! You don't even have to watch it if you don't want to! XD
No, I will eventually - I like to try new things and sample music, videos. Love Youtube a little too much these days....

Me too. I am quite a visual person.
    Yep, then we think alike.

    Go to sleep!
    Heading there now...

    I noticed.
    haha...

Probably. DEVO is my Personal Jesus, so to speak.
Perhaps, but really there is only one Jesus...how 'bout your 'personal teddy bears' instead.

Yes, she told me about that. I'm sure it's quite hard. The poor thing!
It is for her every winter...she said she called a snowplow guy, don't think he came yet.

Luckily we have a gadillion of them in my town, as well as elebenty gadillion records stores in my town. (Okay, four.) Store that specialize/contain at least some vinyl.
Cool! I used to frequent a used record exchange and I loved it. I got really good albums there and cheap. It was so much fun browsing....people were nice, too....I miss that...

    Don't say that!
Ok, then I won't - 'space particles' instead - the awesome kind..***

    Aw!
    Yes, aw....

    Awhahahaha.
    Definitely Awhahhahaha.....

Aw, he's pretty cute, too. I saw you mentioned him a couple posts back. You've seen Big Fish, yeah? "Sandra Templeton, I WILL marry you!"
Yes, I saw the film and liked it, that was a romantic moment; but I like him best in his dark subversive roles like "Young Adam", "Nora" (plays the complex James Joyce). "Eye of the Beholder," "Shallow Grave"...you get the picture....he has a lot of depth; I guess I like his independent films, even though some were not that popular. I will post a link to a video you will like - has the underwater scene from Big Fish at the very end, other parts are "Serpent's Kiss"... I think; it is really good.

Yes, I know, and now I can't sit for very long at all at them. I'm quite sad and frustrated.
I can't either; it is frustrating....like right now, I should be off of here and heading for bed. Computers are killers for bad backs.

    They're neat-O, huh?
Who said only men were from Mars?
I have to watch the rest of that. I thought it was pretty corny and fun - funky. I tried to read that book once and it was so silly; gave up on it. In one of Ken's films they make fun of the book...I must think of the lines to tell you what they are...may have to watch that part of the film again...it was funny but chauvist...Ken was such a sour puss in the beginning of this film and then became transformed after meeting a little diabled girl. Ken was also just great in the story about FDR, "Warm Springs"; about his convalescence in Georgia after polio; he should have won the Emmy for that outstanding performance - he was nominated and he definitely gave a stellar performance.

Exactly. Most people misinterpret that song. Though I must say you can't really guess what it's about, you have to research it if you really want to know.
Most people misinterpret a lot of songs - once the radio did a thing on that - 'misconstrued lyrics' - the people who called in had the funniest answers. It was hilarous!

They're coming out with an EP next Tuesday. I pre-ordered my copy a while ago.
What is an EP? Is that like an ET? ahhaha

To some extent. My dad hates my music, though. "TURN THAT *beep* DOWN!"
Yes, I can relate to that. Old folks need rest and quiet, fast hectic music causes older people anxiety...hahaha....or mellow music at night is better....although there was a time I did like some of my son's music, now I actually hate some he likes - the gap has gotten wider...

Indeed. I prefer deeper music, though.
I do also - something with thought behind it and depth of emotion, meaning, etc.

I liked them when I was nine...Across the Universe really made me angry. I'm sorry. I didn't even finish that movie. It was just awful. I know that really doesn't have much to do with them, though.
I watched it (suffered through) - that was a dumb movie, I thought. Can't even recall now what it was about, that is how much it impressed me...NOT!

That does sound interesting. I'm sure my friend has it. I'll borrow it from him.
It really is interesting and mesmerizing...it became a sort of 'cult film'. It is 'timeless'...isolation is a timeless theme...

I used to listen to that but don't know what it would be like now. It was good.
    Really? Yeah, I wonder....

Well I guess I listen to a lot of 80's/90's underground music. Some stuff from now...
They say it is good; I will have to listen to some soon, like 80's 90's music.....some anyway...

Haha, thanks. I love those glasses...need to get a new pair seeing as they are wearing out real bad.
They are big and funky - I liked them on you. I used to wear really big glasses, but prescription; now I would give anything for that operation to free me from them...I hate bifocals!

    And I won't answer!
...so 'let it be'...as the Beatles said.

*greenface* sort of 'spacey' with a 'green' face....

That's a boy's show! And a bit before my time, I think. And my mother never permitted me to watch "violent" TV shows anyways. XD
Yeah, I know it....but did not know if you cared about gender for shows back then...guess it was before your time....I knew this young girl, her mom hoped she would play with doll, be all feminine; instead she liked her brother's monsters!

    Thanks.
    Welcome

I am too!Are you hip to the jive? Do ya dig what I'm saying with the wiggity wack low down soul sistah? Tiiiiiight. POPPYCOCK!
If I am acting out my teen fantasies. I do know 'POPPYCOCK'! haha..and 'ya dig'...that started with the beat-nik era.

That's cool, I act like an older person who acts like a teenager.
    Good one!

    When the clock strikes zero!
Zero is good... I can wait...

    U2! XD Good night!
U2 is the singing group with Bono...haha XD Goodnight space cadette!

Oh! Okay, I will look, like I said, when I am all better...which means I should stop sneaking on like this.
Stop sneaking on here and get better, silly Lily!

    Eccentricity is basically awesome.

    Brain exercise! My favorite!

    And I shall.

I love high school...well, most of it. I hope to remember a lot of it, but I'm sure new great memories will come to me of course. I like being young in that sense. I have so much ahead of me.

Thanks! I'll get to them all eventually.....just never enough time in each day, is there?
No problem. I can empathize with that!

This rendition sounds exactly like my son and I. I would yell at him to 'turn it down!'...sometimes though, I would sneak into his room and we would watch videos together on MTV. He once made me a tape, of all the ones I liked. I still have it actually; so sweet of him.
Oh my gosh, yes. Both my parents tell me to turn down the stereo. They're just BAH HUMBUG!

    That's nice indeed.

Don't think I like Mono actually, I never did check. Well, sometimes we do dwell on a group or artist for the longest time, and then suddenly, we need something 'new' - you will get that way eventually with Devo - wait and see, then later on you will revive your interest in them. I have done this with several groups now.
I seriously doubt anything will ever replace DEVO, but I will find new stuff that I like. I already have!

    Pa-pa-pa-papageno!

Yeah! There's a lot of opera on YouTube. Including these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MN9pMdL9JN8 and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGUgrN3SIOc Oh my gosh...love those videos. Adorable.

That was my first and only time at the Hollywood Bowl and my first and only live opera. Loved it.

Haha, yes. My mother loves classical music so I got that from her, and the fact that I love the past. I told you I listen to old music!

Men are torturous like that, no?

It is definitely sychronicity or ESP!

Weren't you the one to post Dylan's photo here? I liked the early film I saw on him recently - hey, he was kind of cute back then....very 'deep', too. Of course, he did break Joan Baez's heart.
Nope, that was someone else. He was quite attractive, though.
They were, but now I think they are waiting on me to test out the deal. I will be busy tomorrow and was too busy today to dig out my records. Will have to wait a few days...weekend maybe...
Kay; I'll check it out in the meantime.

I will definitely; I have some great stuff on records...lots of rare stuff too, but stuff that is making a comeback.
    It should cuz it's AWESOME!

Oh maybe, but I won't use them - just want to smell them....haha
    XD

It is an so funny too...she is really something....I will figure out how to send you the link to my file in Photobucket...you will really laugh...
    Pleeeeeease! I love little kidd-Os!

Wait til you are much better and stay off the computer! You need to heal...rest...
I had my mother, who is a physical therapist, look at my back a day or so ago and she said there's nothing wrong with it. I think it is cured, but I am still going to be careful. Darn my weak frame.

No, I will eventually - I like to try new things and sample music, videos. Love Youtube a little too much these days....
    Who isn't a YouTube addict?

Perhaps, but really there is only one Jesus...how 'bout your 'personal teddy bears' instead.

Indeed-I love those things. Still have elebenty gadillion of them on my bed.

It is for her every winter...she said she called a snowplow guy, don't think he came yet.
Where does she live again? Minnesota? Wisconsin? Michigan? Somewhere up there. That sucks nuclear barrel waste.

Cool! I used to frequent a used record exchange and I loved it. I got really good albums there and cheap. It was so much fun browsing....people were nice, too....I miss that...
I know! I love those deals! I got Switched on Bach on vinyl at an old Book Shop for two dollars or so...

Ok, then I won't - 'space particles' instead - the awesome kind..***
    Yeeeeeeeah!

    Ewan is awesome. Good actor.

I can't either; it is frustrating....like right now, I should be off of here and heading for bed. Computers are killers for bad backs.
I think it's our cheap comptuer chair.

Exactly! I like me some corny and funky stuff.

My psychology teacher keeps telling us to read that.

    Tell me!

Most people misinterpret a lot of songs - once the radio did a thing on that - 'misconstrued lyrics' - the people who called in had the funniest answers. It was hilarous!
No, I don't think they get the lyrics wrong, more like the meaning...

What is an EP? Is that like an ET? ahhaha
    You're joking, yes? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extended_play

This is like me knowing more about vinyl (though there are EP CD's...they're usually vinyl, I think, though. DEVO's is vinyl.) and how to work the record player than my mom...and now you!

Yes, I can relate to that. Old folks need rest and quiet, fast hectic music causes older people anxiety...hahaha....or mellow music at night is better....although there was a time I did like some of my son's music, now I actually hate some he likes - the gap has gotten wider...
    But it's fun!

Maybe that just happens because my parents hate my music more and more...

I do also - something with thought behind it and depth of emotion, meaning, etc.
    There's nothing better.

I watched it (suffered through) - that was a dumb movie, I thought. Can't even recall now what it was about, that is how much it impressed me...NOT!
THANK YOU. At least I'm not the only one.

They say it is good; I will have to listen to some soon, like 80's 90's music.....some anyway...
    Mmmm-hmmm.

They are big and funky - I liked them on you. I used to wear really big glasses, but prescription; now I would give anything for that operation to free me from them...I hate bifocals!
Most people don't like them on me, hahaha.

Aw, don't say that! Glasses are awesome! I actually don't need mine.

...so 'let it be'...as the Beatles said.
    Yep.

*greenface* sort of 'spacey' with a 'green' face....
    Favorite color!

Yeah, I know it....but did not know if you cared about gender for shows back then...guess it was before your time....I knew this young girl, her mom hoped she would play with doll, be all feminine; instead she liked her brother's monsters!
Haha, yes. I was more of the feminine type, though...

If I am acting out my teen fantasies. I do know 'POPPYCOCK'! haha..and 'ya dig'...that started with the beat-nik era.

    Good one!

Zero is good... I can wait...
Silly Arabics inventing "zero" like that. Geez.

U2 is the singing group with Bono...haha XD
    Well, I know that!

(Magic Flute came on shuffle again!)

Stop sneaking on here and get better, silly Lily!
    Haha, yes...no more problems...

Tomorrow always holds the promise of something new and exciting. I am the Jetsons meet the Flintstones.

    Eccentricity is basically awesome.
    Brain exercise! My favorite!
Then I am totally awesome and I get a lot of brain exercise, as well....typing (finger) exercise, too.

    And I shall.
Good...I forget now what this refers to...

I love high school...well, most of it. I hope to remember a lot of it, but I'm sure new great memories will come to me of course. I like being young in that sense. I have so much ahead of me.
Well, I didn't hate high school. I liked certain aspects of it actually. I like the extra stuff like clubs I took part in and the school play. I was in the chorus and got second lead understudy - boy that certainly was a shocker to me. Being in the chorus was more my style - I was shy back then. It was a musical and it was gads of fun! I also had two cool guy friends and they asked my other girl friend and I to play hooky and go to NYC for a day. Oh my God, we had such a ball! Cliff got us tickets to 'Cabaret' (sp?) and we saw a matinee. I recall how excited he was to get hold of those tickets - some luck, right? We were of the same mind and liked theater and the arts. I liked being on the committee to decorate the prom; I helped design it. I also loved working on the school newpaper and yearbook layout. I loved all the art related things and actually, I am still friendly with my high school teacher (English Lit and History)....she lives not far from me; she ran a few of these clubs. I see her once in a while. She is, of course, retired now. I am actually good friends with her. I liked some of high school, but college really was my 'thing' - all art or mostly art...I did have some very liberal academics.

No problem. I can empathize with that!
    Thanks.

Oh my gosh, yes. Both my parents tell me to turn down the stereo. They're just BAH HUMBUG!
    A typical teen's reaction!

    That's nice indeed.
It was sweet. I still have a photo of us dressed up to go.

I seriously doubt anything will ever replace DEVO, but I will find new stuff that I like. I already have!
Well, who knows what the future will hold....you might keep them as your #1 always and add others to the list.

    Pa-pa-pa-papageno!
I loved that! There was the guy papageno and then the girl papagena; isn't that how it worked? It was pretty silly but funny.

Yeah! There's a lot of opera on YouTube. Including these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MN9pMdL9JN8 and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGUgrN3SIOc Oh my gosh...love those videos. Adorable.
I did look at these yet last night. Kids are so funny; they were so cute..the second kid was the funniest and had a really high pitched voice. The first kid is losing her dress...

That was my first and only time at the Hollywood Bowl and my first and only live opera. Loved it.
Sounds interesting. I think my father went there years and eons ago. I recall him telling us about it. My grandfather lived out there with his second (she died) and third wife. My father went to visit him. Long story and kind of sad...

Haha, yes. My mother loves classical music so I got that from her, and the fact that I love the past. I told you I listen to old music!
Great, something good rubbed off then...glad you appreciate it.

Men are torturous like that, no?
Yes, the smart ones are that! I dated one and he drove me wild.

    ditto!

Nope, that was someone else. He was quite attractive, though.
He was in a certain way then; not now though - he aged sort of badly.

Kay; I'll check it out in the meantime.
I did see you asked about it in that social group today.

    It should cuz it's AWESOME!
Yep, old stuff is awesome...glad it will live on now, due to DVD's and CD's, audiofiles.

    XD
just what does that translate to, Miss Alien Presence?

    Pleeeeeease! I love little kidd-Os!
Hummm...wonder if I can put the link straight into a PM to you. I have to warm you though. I am laughing uncontrollably in the background - I should be shot or wish I could censor my silly goofy laugh out.

I had my mother, who is a physical therapist, look at my back a day or so ago and she said there's nothing wrong with it. I think it is cured, but I am still going to be careful. Darn my weak frame.
Oh wow, lucky you...I could use a physical therapist around. They could help me get back into shape; least strengthen my muscles. Maybe you just pulled something and now it is cured. How did you do it to begin with? Do you take calcium or drink milk, do dairy?

    Who isn't a YouTube addict?
Yeah really...well I am now for certain...I guess I am a very visual person, being an artist. It has a lot to offer.

Indeed-I love those things. Still have elebenty gadillion of them on my bed.
Hug a bear then and think of them...haha....

Where does she live again? Minnesota? Wisconsin? Michigan? Somewhere up there. That sucks nuclear barrel waste.
Wisconsin. Cold up there. My other friend lives in Michigan. That reminds me; I owe her an email. I owe my friend in Japan one too, instead I am avoiding all and talking mostly silly stuff to you - now I should be shot.

"nuclear barrel wast" ?...huh? what? where?....

I know! I love those deals! I got Switched on Bach on vinyl at an old Book Shop for two dollars or so...

He is pretty sweet. He is deep and I like that. Devilish, too and that turns me on.

I think it's our cheap comptuer chair.
Oh, don't get me started on those! The most certainly can ruin a back. I worked at place 3 yrs with a bad chair and ended up with back surgery - so do be careful. Invest in a new chair with lumbar support - cheaper than an operation.

Exactly! I like me some corny and funky stuff.
    I do, too.

My psychology teacher keeps telling us to read that.
What the Men from Mars book? If so is she wacked?

    Tell me!
Will have to see the film again, and note the lines; but this week I am on a Ken Branagh marathon. I may watch that tonight, unless I watch something newer. I have Ibsen plays I bought and they all look good. I may want to see "A Doll's House"...don't know yet what mood I am in.

No, I don't think they get the lyrics wrong, more like the meaning...
No, they did actually get the lyrics wrong - like in one song they thought it said "palm trees under my feet" - it was from the Miami Vice TV show theme song...you might not know the show; it was during my son's era - he loved that show....anyway I thought that was just hysterical...I forget what the actual lyrics were but it was not "palm trees under my feet"...There were other really really funny ones. I don't think anyone has ever been able to tell me exactly what Michael Jackson says in one of his lines from Billy Jean...it is mutted or slurred and God knows what he is saying.

Oh, I looked at that briefly and it seemed pretty complicated. Now I do get the gist of what you meant anyway.

This is like me knowing more about vinyl (though there are EP CD's...they're usually vinyl, I think, though. DEVO's is vinyl.) and how to work the record player than my mom...and now you!
Haha - yes, we are of the 'old school'....one of the members of the 'Old Geezers and Geezerettes' social group. I can relate to things in there. Your mom should join, too.

Maybe that just happens because my parents hate my music more and more...
    That is a likely possibility....

    There's nothing better.
    Nothing, exactly...

THANK YOU. At least I'm not the only one.
    No, I am here, too.

    Mmmm-hmmm.
    Hummm-mummm.

Most people don't like them on me, hahaha.
Well you do have a very pretty naked face - you should show that more often, not hide behind those lens.

Aw, don't say that! Glasses are awesome! I actually don't need mine.
I know you don't need them. If you did you would hate them...and bifocals are the worst. I just despise them...I would have have the operation in a second if I could afford it. I don't wear my glasses at all when on the computer or to read - think that is why I now hate them so. I feel freed when I don't have to wear those things.

    Favorite color!
    Green? What like aliens?

Haha, yes. I was more of the feminine type, though...
I would think so, you are pretty and petite looking. I have always been the feminine type as well.

    yep,

Silly Arabics inventing "zero" like that. Geez.
Yeah, what is with that anyway - 0 is really pretty wacky. Isn't it the base?

    Well, I know that!
oh good. Thought you might know...

(Magic Flute came on shuffle again!)
How strange; I feel I need a second viewing - maybe watch that again tonight....not sure yet what my mood will dictate.

    Haha, yes...no more problems...
Ok, but stay off, so you can get better, really better...back problems at your age would be no fun.

Us thinking for ourselves, I think.

Well, I didn't hate high school. I liked certain aspects of it actually. I like the extra stuff like clubs I took part in and the school play. Hooky! With boys! Bad Janine! Jist kiddin'!

Ooo, that's so cool that you still keep in touch with your teacher-I love teachers to death. They are usually so amazing and awesome and unique, unlike a lot of my peers. I just love them. They give me hope in this world. I still keep in touch with my Geometry teacher from last year. There have been so many when I've wanted to just go in the teacher's lounge and hang out in there. I am actually e-mailing my ninth grade and my current science teachers for fun. (I'm sending them this article http://www.satirewire.com/news/may02/prizes.shtml) Ah, technology, gotta love it.

    Thanks.
    Gotta be understanding.

    A typical teen's reaction!
    MAYBE SO!

Well, who knows what the future will hold....you might keep them as your #1 always and add others to the list.
    Exactly.

I loved that! There was the guy papageno and then the girl papagena; isn't that how it worked? It was pretty silly but funny.
Yep! I was a bit jealous when they got together, though, cuz I had a crush on Papageno for some reason.

I did look at these yet last night. Kids are so funny; they were so cute..the second kid was the funniest and had a really high pitched voice. The first kid is losing her dress...
Oh my gosh, I LOVE those videos. They never cease to make me laugh really hard.

Sounds interesting. I think my father went there years and eons ago. I recall him telling us about it. My grandfather lived out there with his second (she died) and third wife. My father went to visit him. Long story and kind of sad...

Great, something good rubbed off then...glad you appreciate it.
Yeah, I should steal her classical music vinyl collection and put it in mine, like I did with her classical music CD's. (Okay, not all of them...bot much into the Romantic Era...)

He was in a certain way then; not now though - he aged sort of badly.
Daw, really? I don't know much about him. I'm blasphemous, I know. I just don't seem to listen to what everyone else listens to, like the classics.

I did see you asked about it in that social group today.
    Yep!

Yep, old stuff is awesome...glad it will live on now, due to DVD's and CD's, audiofiles.
Oh, isn't it? And yes, I am thankful for those...

just what does that translate to, Miss Alien Presence?
It's a smiley. Look at it sideways. >.> <.< are shifty eyes, not sideways, though. See?

Hummm...wonder if I can put the link straight into a PM to you. I have to warm you though. I am laughing uncontrollably in the background - I should be shot or wish I could censor my silly goofy laugh out.
    Probably!

That makes it even more hilarious! Laughing makes me laugh like crazy. Have you seen that video where a buncha people laugh and it's a challenge to see if you don't laugh the whole time? I laughed like...two seconds in. It was sad. I think I laughed at the baby laughing. (Aline, thinking: "Lolololol, baby. Oh, shoot. I laughed. I lost." )

Oh wow, lucky you...I could use a physical therapist around. They could help me get back into shape; least strengthen my muscles. Maybe you just pulled something and now it is cured. How did you do it to begin with? Do you take calcium or drink milk, do dairy?
I am! She rubs my back and everything!

I used the computer too much. Winged scapula is a slipping of the scapula away from the ribcage and a weakening of the muscles that hold them to it.

And yes, I drink plenty of milk.

Yeah really...well I am now for certain...I guess I am a very visual person, being an artist. It has a lot to offer.
    Yep!

Hug a bear then and think of them...haha....
    XD

Wisconsin. Cold up there. My other friend lives in Michigan. That reminds me; I owe her an email. I owe my friend in Japan one too, instead I am avoiding all and talking mostly silly stuff to you - now I should be shot.
    Oh, yes.

We got a Japanese foreign exchange student at our school! He's neat-O.

Neener, neener, neener, I'm distracting you!

"nuclear barrel wast" ?...huh? what? where?....
    It's just a silly thing I say a lot.

Yep they did cost about 2 bucks; most expensive may have been 4 or 5. I loved that place. I found a lot of cool stuff there - rare records.
    Wow, that's so expensive.

He is pretty sweet. He is deep and I like that. Devilish, too and that turns me on.

Oh, don't get me started on those! The most certainly can ruin a back. I worked at place 3 yrs with a bad chair and ended up with back surgery - so do be careful. Invest in a new chair with lumbar support - cheaper than an operation.
AHHH! D: I'll ask my parents...

    I do, too.
    Yay!

What the Men from Mars book? If so is she wacked?
    Yep!

Will have to see the film again, and note the lines; but this week I am on a Ken Branagh marathon. I may watch that tonight, unless I watch something newer. I have Ibsen plays I bought and they all look good. I may want to see "A Doll's House"...don't know yet what mood I am in.
Don't ya love it when you get obsessed with something? It's fun.

I'm sure that was funny to hear.

Oh, I looked at that briefly and it seemed pretty complicated. Now I do get the gist of what you meant anyway.
Hahahaha. Yep. Bigger than a single, smaller than an LP.

Haha - yes, we are of the 'old school'....one of the members of the 'Old Geezers and Geezerettes' social group. I can relate to things in there. Your mom should join, too.
If she ever joins LitNet, I'll tell her to!

    That is a likely possibility....
    It's just natural!

    No, I am here, too.
    Good. Phew.

Well you do have a very pretty naked face - you should show that more often, not hide behind those lens.
Once in a while I don't wear them. I had this one lady get really mad at me once because of them. "You don't need them!? TAKE THEM OFF!!!"

I know you don't need them. If you did you would hate them...and bifocals are the worst. I just despise them...I would have have the operation in a second if I could afford it. I don't wear my glasses at all when on the computer or to read - think that is why I now hate them so. I feel freed when I don't have to wear those things.
HAHAHAHAHA. That made me laugh so hard! I didn't even have to tell you!

    Green? What like aliens?
    Yep! Or secret laboratories!

I would think so, you are pretty and petite looking. I have always been the feminine type as well.
I'm not really anymore-girl's clothing is too boring for me and my legs look way too skinny for me to ever wear a skirt. Though I must say that I bought a skirt at the thrift store the other day that I actually liked-yellow and gray stripes-real nice and gaudy!

    yep,

Yeah, what is with that anyway - 0 is really pretty wacky. Isn't it the base?
Binary would be nothing without it!

How strange; I feel I need a second viewing - maybe watch that again tonight....not sure yet what my mood will dictate.
    Do it!!!

Ok, but stay off, so you can get better, really better...back problems at your age would be no fun.
Yeah, it's not...is it ever? Thanks. Take care.

Good one! I don't think anyone has ever started a thread named "Random Rantings" before....

How have you guys not been banished to the live chat thread by now??
I'm weary with right-angles, abbreviated daylight,
Waiting for a winter to be done.
Why do I still see you in every mirrored window,
In all that I could never overcome?
