andave ya, hi....yes, and I think we know it. too. You could call this a meeting of the minds which exist in separate poles or parallel universes - perhaps the generational gap,... and we are both trying desperately to bridge that gap...haha...do you think it is working? At least we are both rather entertaining, right?

He is an english actor, his first film is called Stormbreaker. (i cant remember what his latest one is called)
and if you like him as much as i do look at his images on google
they make me weak to my knees

oh and soz for the late reply
Hi English Rose, what is a Brummie? haha...sorry to be so lame, but I never heard that expression before. Am I in a club I don't know about? Now Birmingham is in England, right? or it is Ireland? I forget now...today I have temporary senility. Was Ken from Birmington. I have to go check my statisics. If so, I wish I was there right now. My dream is a ticket to England, and all the islands connected. I even have a list of places I need to explore there - well, perhaps someday...right?

I don't Alex Pettyfer, but will go now and look him up. His name is interesting and I love your user name as well...surprised you could get that one - but it is very pretty. I would love to walk through an English rose garden. Isn't 'wessexgirl' a great name, too? I have just plain old Janine, which actually is my real name. Guess I signed on quickly and could not think that day, but now I figure it is easier anyway.

If I am dealing with actors as a category, I've always loved Paul Newman, why, I can't really say, but I've always been turned on by good ole boys with the devil in them, which includes the young Al Pacino of The Godfather, and the current, if aging, Kevin Spacey.
Jozanny, sorry you got skipped over back there. I think it was your changed color in your post that threw me and others off. I must pay better attention. Please forgive us chatterboxes.

When I was young, I thought Paul Newman was the end of the earth. I do think the man was wonderful and a great actor and it did not hurt to be so strikenly handsome, either; he aged beautifully...better than some...sorry to hear recently of his death. I love his wife too, she is a great actress...wonderful they stayed together for so long....great example for others in Hollywood. I like Pacino, and I love his film "Finding Richard" he is so funny and great in that film; but I think he was way more appealing physically to me when he was younger. That reminds me, that I am kind of ga-ga at times over Andy Garcia...he also was in the "Godfather", but I fell in-love with him in his sympathetic husband role with Meg Ryan; film about a woman alcoholic, forget the name of it now. He is just the most sensitive and loving husband anyone could wish for, in that film. I happen to see him last night in Ken Branagh's film "Dead Again" and his sweet but bad-boy persona was quite sexy and appealing, as well. He has very sparkly dark eyes, which I find very alluring...funny, because usually I go for light haired men with blue eyes, but Andy is cute, just downright cute in a devilish way.

I asked before if guys, who are no longer alive, count in this thread? I adore older movies and the actors - just to name a few - James Stewart, Gregory Peck, Lawrence Olivier, Peter O'Toole, Cary Grant - the last is just so darn sexy in the film "Notorious" - that role of his really did it for me, otherwise I had not found him that sexy before. The others I named I meant in their early roles mostly, like O'Toole in "Lawrence of Arabia" or "Goodbye, Mr. Chips". I have always loved these actors as well - Alan Bates and Richard Harris - both recently deceased. The world will miss these film greats.

In music I've only ever been a groupie for Elton John, which might or might not be farcical, depending on one's point of view, but his 1970's output with Taupin, is, in my estimation, to die for.
Oh, I love Elton but maybe not physically now since I know he is not straight but I do love him, just the same. I have always loved his music. I love a lot of singers - something very alluring about a singer, especially if he is also the songwriter. That just turns me onto them - they are so intelligent. Intelligence is a real big element for me in being attracted to someone, whether celeb or in real life.

Now Spacey I am never sure about. It depends on the film if I feel any attraction. I guess there have been a few but otherwise I can't rant and rave over him, although I know he is a very fine actor; I do appreciate him and admire him. I think this whole celeb crush thing is chemistry, don't you?

I hate to admit it Janine, but when I was twelve in Shriners Hospital I really did read all those old fan zine articles on EJ and felt myself attracted to him. I was reluctant over the orientation issue until I grew up and stopped thinking about it--but I do think, and this is my bias, that he is one of the great pop/soft rock artists of the seventies because he pushed the boundaries of the genre as few others. Captain Fantastic has no equal. By the late 80's maybe he should have stopped making new tracks.

I am writing a memoir actually, about my EJ rave, because I am not a bona fide groupie over much, except for the classic Elton John. I distrust fan psychology. I distrust fans, but that music makes me as gooey and weak in the knees as any of them.

I will resist getting intellectual about celebrity, but it is a motif that fascinates me, and I am doing a study of it in a fictional poet who has an academic reputation and reluctantly sleeps with a groveling student who has cerebral palsy. Been working on it for years, but my writer friends had some surprisingly nice things to say about my drafts. When I met Robert Creeley it irritated me that I was nervous and my hands were shaking, and when fans write to me in virtual worship it is ..... spooky. A writer needs fans, but I do not value the small train of them that once followed in my wake; nor did I particularly enjoy getting crucified as a journalist when I worked for AccessLife. There is something to be said for taking poster comments with a grain of salt--perhaps I am being naughty and do have a struggling thesis in the making! Sorry, but yes, adulation can be fun, but it is strange as well.

Didn't we all read that stuff when we were younger? And cut out pictures, pasted them on walls and look at our idols each day. No big deal really, I do understand; you should not be ashamed to admit it. As my mother always said "I am old but I can still look" haha. I think it was healthy actually - everyone needs an outlet and that provided something to think about, asside from the hum drum of life and all the pressures of growing up; it still might do so today...just how different are we now...we still look to actors and singers for something which we don't get in our daily existence - we need some escapism in these stressful times. Probably too your 'obsession' with Elton was not that at all, but a deeper appreciation of the performer and I think he has a super sweet way, very human. I know that I still feel this way about the performers or actors I admire and love; when I say 'love' it is just a expression; but truly I do derrive great pleasure from watching their fine performances or hearing a great voice sing or even recite, so it is a kind of love for what they do. What is wrong with that? I think the fact these performer have given us so much, they do deserve some adulation and especially appreciation.

I am writing a memoir actually, about my EJ rave, because I am not a bona fide groupie over much, except for the classic Elton John. I distrust fan psychology. I distrust fans, but that music makes me as gooey and weak in the knees as any of them.
That sounds interesting, Jozanny. I don't distrust fan psychology really. I guess there have been sick people who became stalkers but that is a rarity. I think the others just want to show they appreciate the actor/singer/celebrity and it is all mostly in fun. We all know that realistically, they would not look our way...but aren't we all dreamers? I am 58 and still can dream and imagine. So go goofy and weak in the knees and why not, enjoy it!

Yes, this is just a silly fun thread, and quite harmless. Mostly I came on to see if I could exchange some information with others and get some suggestions on productions and such. I love actors and movies and plays, and music, too. It is good to connect with others and find out more about celebrities, that particularly attract ones attention. I did so on another site and found some rare footage of things I had not known about. I am always on a quest for more information, if something or something attracts my interests me.

Well, perhaps that could be a thesis and it might prove very interesting. You might find out why I am totally obsessed with D.H.Lawrence and he has been dead now many years. He seems alive to me, strange isn't it? But a marvelous and great thought to think an author does live on in his words and his work.

Hi Janine. A Brummie is a native of Birmingham, (from Brummagem of medieval times I think), in the Midlands, in England, not Ireland . We often get the mickey taken out of our accent. See the link.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brummie

But I always say, I come from 20 miles down the road to Stratford, so Shakey may have spoken in a similar dialect ! Ken is not from Brum, I wish, I may have run into him sometime, although our population is in the millions, (don't know how many millions, a couple I think).

Julie Walters is a Brummie, although her birthplace is not now part of Birmingham, but it was, and that's how we sound. People mistake us for the neighbouring Black Country, which has a stronger accent.

I hope that makes it clearer for you what a Brummie is .

Niamh, haha aren't we though - totally wack jobs! Me at my age fawning over celebrities. I am not dead yet, so at least I can dream. Lily provides some good comic relief also and takes me to a spacey realm - why not, it is so much fun!

Thanks for listing these, I love U2 - definitely, I will check them out later - love videos; darn, I don't have the time right now. Lily must check them out, too. I also can't believe she never heard of them; they have been popular so long. Why of course you would know them, being from your country. My son is half Irish and he loves them; sure he can relate through his blood.

wessexgirl, you know later that night (computer was shut down) I thought of how stupid I sounded making that remark. Now I know what I was thinking of...a D.H. Lawrence story; he also was from the Midlands; he had the connection to Birmingham I am sure; duh, I knew that was in England; I tend to get Ken and DHL mixed up, because Ken played him in several productions...hehe... now I even imagine that Lawrence looked just like Ken....well, sometimes that is.. Ok, what is a 'mickey'? Is that a sort of twang to the accent?

Great, I will check this out later on. A little busy in my house presently. Someone coming to repair the plumbing.

But I always say, I come from 20 miles down the road to Stratford, so Shakey may have spoken in a similar dialect ! Ken is not from Brum, I wish, I may have run into him sometime, although our population is in the millions, (don't know how many millions, a couple I think).

How cool! I wish I could say the same. I live 20 mins from Philadelphia and I don't think Shakespeare was born yet; there may be productions there but nothing like the RSC or being in Stratford. I am soooo jealous; but of course I may hate your weather - too damp and cold for me in the winter! No, Ken was from Belfast, wasn't he? Then the family moved to Reading in England due to the 'troubles' there? I read his book, you would think I would know this by now. I just got my 'b's' mixed up.

Can't wait to watch these. I can mark them over there since I sign in to comment on videos. I will comment on these most likely.

Yes, it certainly does and you know what - I love these little tid-bits of information about England or any of the islands, I need to see the Irish coast now that I watched "Ryan's Daughter". My roots are in Scotland so I must visit there, as well. I just have to make it over across the ocean someday, somehow. I have to see these places with my own eyes. I will start saving up now...

Thanks so much for posting all this and keeping me informed.

taking the mickey or taking the Mick is slang for taking the piss out of someone, joking, teasing, slagging.

Thanks for explaining that to me, Niamh. Oh, I see it's Irish slang; I like it. I was a little off in my interpretation.

I see you changed you avatar for the season. I love that one. Didn't you have that last Holiday season? I loved it then, it is very pretty.

You are good late night entertainment/escapism for me.
I enjoy talking to you, too.

It was not so when I was young but now it is. This is why I liked certain lyrics from some songs about deviating from the norm...some of Supertramps definitely do state that and there was one group I liked a lot that applauded the square or geek but I can't think of their names now...senility, you know, either that or I have not woken up quite yet (I am a nite owl). I think you would have liked the off-beat group. When it comes to me I will let you know.
Kinda. Being different has indeed become something "cool". Whatever. I do that, too. Why do ya think I listen to Dev-O? "We're through being cool."

Yeah, they are a bit strange to this day; I see some since I live in my hometown and they are nice to a point but then some are truly odd, like they still have one foot in adolescence. I hung with the moderate crowd, I guess they considered us squares. This is why I don't go to any more class reunions. They are not fun anymore - just the 'in' group showing off and bragging about their accomplishments or countless trips/vacations around the world. They are real snobs!
That sucks that they're still like that. Quite a shame.

Cool, I had been thing of buying a Heart album recently. I saw a Greatest Hits one out and it was only $6.99 but wasn't sure it had the songs I truly love on there. I love the older album - 'Dreamboat Annie' and another older one - the name fails me presently - but I believe Baracuda is on that one and 'Mistral Wind', which is one of my favorite cuts of theirs. I just love Mistral Wind. Maybe I can find it on Youtube; if so I will send you the link on your profile page.
    Please!

Well, she is probably from that era. Actually, I was from the Beatles, Rolling Stones, then later, in my 20's there was the other big rock groups, people still like to this day....ah...then came disco. I recall that more in my early 30's. All I recall is going to bars to socialise with my friends and dance and it was a good beat to dance to. I attempted to disco dance but that was a disaster; however, I my friend and I did have a lot of fun trying to pull it off, and we still reminese about some funny times we had.
She is. She'd like to go...disco-ing.

Yes, I know the song 'Dreamer' well; I have (on vinyl) about 4 of their albums - they are good. I bought 'In the Quietest Moments' recently on CD because that is really my favorite album and that may be my favorite song; no doubt that one is too tame for you though.....haha
Nah, I listen to "tame" songs when I feel like it-just on the whole I like 'em FAST AND LOUD! Typical teenager.

I will try to post it in your email (PM box)...see if it works that way.

Alllllways good to be open to alllll types of music, seriously it is...you just might surprise yourself. I did! I like everything now or at least try it, even Opera which I had never considered when I was younger (you are probably cringing now). Well, only thing I just can't tolerate (at my age) is rap and bee-bop.
Yes, I know. I am realizing that.

Cringing at what? Opera? I love opera!

Agreed. I don't think I'll ever like rap or country. I know, really typical, but...

That is what my neighbor says about his vinyl collection - he loves that little authentic scratching sound - how funny. This is really funny - one day this song came into my head from out of the blue and I was dying to hear it. I knew I had the album on vinyl but it was not in my good cabinet which holds the albums upright and keeps them pristine, so I went into a closet and found it and when I put it onto the turntable the whole record was so warped - that is what happens to vinyl if you don't store it right. I though - well give it a whirl anyway. I think it did play somewhat and then played weird. Needless to say, I ended up buying the CD to replace it.
    Well, it's the best!

Yep! I like a bit weather-beaten, though. Adds charm. I don't mind scratching, but skipping is another deal-pretty annoying! Good think I gots an iPod and such.

Smell it? well never thought of doing that but hey, 'whatever turns you on' - expression from the disco years, I believe. I do love the smell of Crayola Crayons since that transports me back to my childhood and those memories - I always wanted the box with 64! Think they have even more colors added now - like sparkly ones.
Yep! It's more like smelling the old rotted paper and cardboard, but whatever.

You can get those anywhere! And they are quite pretty. Go get some at Target or somethin'!

I like it only if in the mood and maybe if dancing; then slow is just no good, dancing one needs beat and wilder stuff, faster. I love to dance.
    Me too.

Get out of here, really? They are from Ireland and a big name band. I do like them. Now they are more rock.
Well, yeah, I've heard of them, and I know they're from Ireland. But never sat down to listen to them.

At one time I played their music constantly. I love Sting and some of the early videos are just great. I love the black and white one with "Every Breath You Take". I will have to locate it for you online.
    Do so!

Not sure who I was referring to here.
    Wasn't it Mono?

Now that is cool, you meet him, wow. Oh you are funny - you would cry at seeing Devo. Gosh you are a groupie. Do they have that profound an effect on your?
Haha, yes, it was very intense.

    You have no idea.

She is nice and fun, totally.
Uh huh! I haven't talked to her much in a while, though.

The group is going well, but LW is sick today, so we will probably wait for her now. Stop in and read it if you have a chance.
    Yes, I shall!

Seems the optimists are the ones who like the tragedies in literature and in film. I guess we are somewhat serious minded and 'realistic.'
Because we are awesome like that.

I have the soundtrack to that film; haven't listened to it for awhile now. I have to be in the mood. I should watch the film again; my library most likely owns it. I liked that film when it came out - quite different. Didn't even know there was a book.
I always see that soundtrack for sale on vinyl at all our antique shops. I want it, actually.

    Yep! Arthur C. Clarke!

He doppleganger guy is just a riot - played by Jared Harris - Richard Harris's son. He is an actor I greatly admire. He pulls this homeless quirky guy off so well in the film. At one moment in the film he says to Peter (Branagh) " you know you're sort of a cumugeon"...haaha - there is a good word too. I ran to the dictionary to look it up. There are so many funny lines in the film. It is quirky with a lot of heart underneath. I just love that film. I heard in Japan it is a huge hit; isn't that strange...moreso than the US. I think the title threw people off because the main theme of the story is not 'how to kill a neighbor's dog'.
    Curmudgeon.

Even though a little bit crude it is mostly just life like, everyday stuff and I can tell you a few of the cruder scenes will have you laughing hysterically. One is his exam at the doctors for his problems of over sized prostrate and hemroids..they don't really show much of anything but you can imagine it quite well and the lines just crack you up. Ken is so vulnerable in the scene too that you have to love him. We have all been through some doctor embarrassing moments and this one makes it so real and yet so humorous.
    Well, it's true.

    Ouch!

I don't love them but if they have a gap I actually do think it sort of sexy - weird isn't it. I just don't really think they need to have those cosmetically perfect teeth to look handsome - clean yes, but a bit off, that is fine with me...makes them seem way more human, doesn't it. Who can relate to guys that are totally flawless?
    Adorararararararable.

Hope that gets better soon; what did you do to it anyway? Well, you may not like it all but maybe some. I will try and find some old quirkier stuff you might be able to relate to or appreciate, at least.
I'm just really structurally weak and I don't exercise and I sit at a computer a lot cuz I'm a loser. I shouldn't be here now, actually. Ugh.

    Thanks.

Oh, I do recall "Whip it"...in fact they still always play that at weddings. How funny. I will look them up later on tonight. I may like some of their songs - maybe more the early ones. Isn't "Whip it" more a pop song? Glad thought to know they kept together and progressed with the times. Sigh of a good band, when they can move onto new fresh stuff.

    Yep.

I don't think DEVO ever intended to be a pop group, but that's what seemed to have happened with "Whip It". The album they made after that one though, was a response to all the "fans" they got who really didn't "get it". They're free-thinkers.

Oh I know! I can't wait until they release their new stuff.
Sorry too late last night and now too busy; I will definitely check that out later tonight. Thanks for the link.
    It's nothing big.

I don't Asto-man. I will look that up, too. Don't know Dick Dale either - who is he? Never heard of 'Space Nerd Punk Surf Rock' - are we still on planet earth?
I told you! That's how I classify them. Try this for them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihTAMUwCqQY and try this for Dev-O: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3MxuDk7wqo

I think so; told you I was in back in the Dark Ages of music or old peoples tunes...haha
    Nothing wrong with that.

Yes, others your age have told me; even asked if I liked the groups...well, of course I did...I grew up with those groups!
They're silly. The Beatles are pretty popular. Not many people would say no to them. I don't much care for them, but I do appreciate their music.

The movie "The Wall" is great - incredible. I love it! I also love the soundtrack album. I have it here on file and on CD's.
Apparently it's about "walling" yourself away from others?

I used to like them a lot and probably still would enjoy their music. I think of them more pop too than rock. They were unique and they were always good.
Don't feel guilty silly! You have broad interests - so embrace that fact.
Hahaha, thanks. They're just so pop-y...and such. I don't usually go for that. But I listened to them when I was nine and I live in Southern California so I really can't help it.

I used to listen to underground stuff too but not now for a long time....just radio it was and probably tamer back then, than now.
    Underground is good.

Welcome, welcome, welcome! I say "like I said" all the time too...haha. Don't be one bit sorry. I like it, like I said.

    I feel mutated....
    Not necessarily beautiful, but mutated!

    Is that Meh or Men!????zzzbbb^&%#@!
    It's "meh". XD

Thanks for these links. Later will check them all out - just wait for me to get back to you. I will give them all a whirl.
    I love that man.

Love blue eyes! love blonds, too...and redheads - lighter complexion's I guess now I am drawn to....but blue blue eyes are just so alluring...love them!
    Aren't they lovely?

Thanks for listing these, I love U2 - definitely, I will check them out later - love videos; darn, I don't have the time right now. Lily must check them out, too. I also can't believe she never heard of them; they have been popular so long. Why of course you would know them, being from your country. My son is half Irish and he loves them; sure he can relate through his blood.
Age's got nothin' to do with anything. One of my strong beliefs.

Glad to be of assistance in this Wiggly World.

Me too, now who would have guessed it?....

Kinda. Being different has indeed become something "cool". Whatever. I do that, too. Why do ya think I listen to Dev-O? "We're through being cool."
Yes, suddenly being different came into style. I sort of missed the boat on that one. I am pretty eccentric now thought - making up for my lost youthful years of having to try and fit in. I always seemed to fall through the cracks though, know what I mean?

That sucks that they're still like that. Quite a shame.
Some are nice but there is just some kind of a limit as to how friendly you really would want to be with them. They are still kind of clichish and I don't really like that sort of thing. I am not really one to have a crowd of friends, never hung in a crowd. I had individual friends but they seem the opposite and have groups of friends, even to this day. They can have their little snobby club; I could care less.

    Please!
I will but I am really tired now. Late here so I am not fun tonight... with one eye open....

She is. She'd like to go...disco-ing.
Tell her I am game! ahaha - I danced up a storm at my son's wedding - that was loads of fun. I think we did one disco song just for fun.

Nah, I listen to "tame" songs when I feel like it-just on the whole I like 'em FAST AND LOUD! Typical teenager.
You listen to tame? get out! I bet your bedroom is always vibrating or rocking loudly. I know - I lived with a teenager, remember...I did not cry when he left home and got his own appartment - finally I could get some sleep without my floorboards banging around from the beat downstairs.

Yes, I know. I am realizing that.
Good to hear this, means you are open to new things, new experiences. That will make you well-rounded and open-minded.

Cringing at what? Opera? I love opera!
Get out - who would have guessed it. I just ordered the new Magic Flute directed by Kenneth Branagh - it is Mozart's opera set to a new libretto and all in English. It is suppose to be quite good. I have really been getting into opera this year. I love my Alagna (ever hear of him) version on DVD of Romeo and Juliet - oh he is to die for - now he has dreamy blue or green eyes....just gorgeous and he is so sweet - his voice is like an angels. I also love my "Madame Butterfly" DVD of the opera. I like the drama of opera a lot.

Agreed. I don't think I'll ever like rap or country. I know, really typical, but...
True country I can't get into; I do like some folk but that was from my generation so it would follow I still appreciate it. I absolutely hate rap - I can't understand a word they are saying and besides I think it is so harsh and crude and obnoxious. I have no love for the music - if one can even call it that.

    Well, it's the best!
It may be...we have been having this discussion on vinyl in the Music social group this week; you should peek in and take a look at what has been said.

Yep! I like a bit weather-beaten, though. Adds charm. I don't mind scratching, but skipping is another deal-pretty annoying! Good think I gots an iPod and such.
My neighbor says the same thing - says it gives it that authentic quality....I grew up with some scratchy sound so it does not bother me very much; although it has been awhile since I once again listened to vinyl. You make me want to now, for old time's sake.

Yep! It's more like smelling the old rotted paper and cardboard, but whatever.

You can get those anywhere! And they are quite pretty. Go get some at Target or somethin'!
I bought a collector tin with 64 a number of years back and have it stored away. I hope they are still good - do crayons go bad? I was going to pass it onto my grand-daughter.

    Me too.
Yep, dancing and beat - even my grand-daughter knows that and she is just 6 months old.

Well, yeah, I've heard of them, and I know they're from Ireland. But never sat down to listen to them.
Yes, Niamh would know about them; they are her native band. I like them a lot. She gave us some good videos to watch. I will get to those and to yours tomorrow....promise....I got side-tracked today and forgot...sorry...

    Do so!
Ok I will...I love videos if they are well done.

    Wasn't it Mono?
I still don't know. I forgot to look - leave it til tomorrow... one eyed right now...they both are drooping...

Haha, yes, it was very intense.
When one is a teenager everything is intense.

    You have no idea.
Maybe they are from outer space and casting a spell on you.

Uh huh! I haven't talked to her much in a while, though.
She is very nice but it snows too much where she lives and now it is starting again - it is very hard on her - all that heavy shoveling. I don't envy her that.

    Yes, I shall!
    Oh goody.

Because we are awesome like that.
    Yepper! I agree...

I always see that soundtrack for sale on vinyl at all our antique shops. I want it, actually.
I used to work at an antique store and sell there as well. It was great fun. It is a good soundtrack - Strauss I think -walzes....and lot of spacey sounds too - pretty awesome...

    Yep! Arthur C. Clarke!
wow, didn't even know that...good another useless 'tidbit' to float around in my spacey brain - lot of black holes up there, too!

    Curmudgeon.
Funny sort of word isn't it? Well he starts out being totally disgruntled with the world and he goes through a transformation by meeting up with this cute little girl who is disabled - sweet story...and touching, too...

    Well, it's true.
    Ouch! .
Exactly - it is life and truthful...also he goes to the gynocologist with his wife - that is funny, too - seeing it from a husband's perspective.

    Adorararararararable.
Yeah, tonight I was watching some videos on Ewan McGregor and he is a good example - he has sort of unique teeth if you really observe them and it actually does add to his appeal - it makes his mouth look cute when he smiles. His teeth look shorter in the front that on the sides - it looks natural though and not like a hollywood beauty. I happen to think Ewan is a doll but of course he does sometime remind me of my son when he shows his devilish side so I can't drool over him; he is a bit young for me but still I do find him totally adorable! He seems smart and nice to and is a faithful husband and loves his wife very much so. I really admire that about him and he adores his little girls. He is a good daddy. He is also a pretty darn good actor.

I'm just really structurally weak and I don't exercise and I sit at a computer a lot cuz I'm a loser. I shouldn't be here now, actually. Ugh.
That is a shame - you are too young for these problems. You should try and walk or strengthen yourself and your muscles. Sitting at computers for long hours is a very bad thing. I feel the effect of it but addicted I am and I must try to limit or I will be sick.

    Thanks.
    Welcome!

Good that they keep progressing. I will listen to them tomorrow. I did see part of the Astro man video - that was rather funny - quite entertaining - you sure you are not an alien presense here among us?

    Yep.
    Ok...

I don't think DEVO ever intended to be a pop group, but that's what seemed to have happened with "Whip It". The album they made after that one though, was a response to all the "fans" they got who really didn't "get it". They're free-thinkers.
Well, the masses went for that song because it is catchy. Yes, probably they did not see themselves as pop artists at all.

Oh I know! I can't wait until they release their new stuff.
    That will be cool...

    It's nothing big.
    Oh, ok...

I told you! That's how I classify them. Try this for them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihTAMUwCqQY and try this for Dev-O: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3MxuDk7wqo
Really funny and crazy - quite entertaining I think...does you mother like this stuff, too....

    Nothing wrong with that.
    True...

They're silly. The Beatles are pretty popular. Not many people would say no to them. I don't much care for them, but I do appreciate their music.
Yes, they are silly sometimes, maybe most times but that is just fun light music....summer music..beach stuff...meaning the Beach Boys.

Now the Beatles I like better now maybe than back then, not sure though really - I just may forget. I was crazy on them when they first came to light. I think their middle years they lost me for awhile. Now I have a remastered CD and do enjoy them again - they were once played too often and then you got tired of them but it is fun to revive some music after time goes by. I have to be in the mood to listen to them.

Apparently it's about "walling" yourself away from others?
That is exactly it - isolation of the individual....it is a well made film - very creative and sort of mesmerizing....you just go with it and let it happen...it is pretty awesome I think.

Hahaha, thanks. They're just so pop-y...and such. I don't usually go for that. But I listened to them when I was nine and I live in Southern California so I really can't help it.
Yep, beach music like I said - and very pop-y!

    Underground is good.
I used to listen to that but don't know what it would be like now. It was good.

    Not necessarily beautiful, but mutated!
Get out of here - you always looked really pretty and cute to me when you posted those photos, even with the big oversized dark glasses - those were very funky and fun!

    It's "meh". XD
    Janine, don't ask!....

    I love that man.
    I realise that!

    Aren't they lovely?
    Yes, they are.

Mutant Ninja Turtles - do you remember those - why they just came to me I will never know....

Contrary to popular belief, I never use that smiley.
Haha - you don't need to.....you are alien enough without it...

    I'm a squirrel!
Definitely, we call it 'a bit squirrely' here!

Well, I have! Just never listened to them.
Cool, tres cool! See I am good at teenage lingo.

Age's got nothin' to do with anything. One of my strong beliefs.
    I know - I still act like a teenager, don't you think?

Glad to be of assistance in this Wiggly World.
You are my tour guide to undiscovered gallaxies. When does the ship leave?

You guys are sillies. I've heard of them! :lol
Heart who. Now I am lost! Going to bed, blindly finding my way now to the bedroom...been nice talking to you, but my eyes are shutting for the night....nightly night..... beam me up Scotty.......

I love the contrast of the burgundy to the white snow...lovely image, Niamh.

Yeah, Lily right? I've heard many of their songs; in fact, I have many right here on my itunes file and other albums burned to disc. Hummm....might go now and listen to one of the albums - been awhile.
