Yes, I really enjoyed that film too, although it was very depressing.. Although the documentaries (Ghosts of Rwanda, Sometimes in April) I have seen and books (Left to Tell, Machete Season, SHake Hands with the Devil) I have read on Rwanda are much worse, in fact they are pretty awful and very hard to watch and read.. Parts of the book "Left to Tell" make one break down crying... it is horribly depressing that the world sat by and watched these atrocities and did nothing at all.. Even the UN did nothing in reality and that is an awful and shocking truth..

    Last movie I saw was:

Intolerance: Love's Struggle Through the Ages-- 9.5/10

amazing 1916 silent film that I highly recommend to anyone interested in silent films.. depicts four different stories throughout history, from the fall babylon, to the crucifixion of christ, to st bartholomew's day massacre, to a 1914 american strike and the fight between crime and moral puritanism, and workers and capitalists... just a wonderful film

Very good movie. I haven't seen it in years, though.

There is no reason for something to be this good. The story is horrid. Mainly because it is true. Angelina Jolie has given, in my opinion, the best performance by an actress in the last 20 years. I don't care what anyone else thinks. She was unbelievable in here. I felt so badly for her and I think it was because she was so real in this role. Whenever my thoughts would go back to the fact that this is a true story, that made her performance even more heartbreaking. If she doesn't WIN the Oscar, then I know everyone is crazy. As long as I am on that, if Clint Eastwood doesn't win, that will convince me even more so on my opinion! I would like to see a total of 4 actors in this film nominated. After that, I would expect at least one to WIN the Supporting Actor Oscar. Of course, this is just my little opinon and it doesn't really count much. But, for me, this was such a bad story that was made into such a good film. Very, very good film!

Lady Wentworth, I can't wait to see this film. I like what you wrote about it; this makes me even more anxious. It looks so incredible. I actually like true stories, more than pure fiction, even though this will be a sad one. I think, from the trailers that I have seen so far, that Jolie's performance is terrific. I personally think she is a very good actress and can't wait to see her take on this most difficult role.

islandclimber, I loved the film "Hotel Rwanda" - amazing. I guess reading about the truth even more stark and depressing. The film was excellent and the acting was fantastic.

That silent film sounds wonderful. I will keep that inmind.

I really want to see this, so I am glad you liked it so much... Which means I can rest assured now that it will not disappoint, although I am sure it will be pretty depressing..

27 Dresses. It was cute. As stunning as Katherine Heigl is, she's really not a very good actress. 6.5/10

I think it's a Hitchcock kind of night, so I'll just give whatever I watch a 10/10 in advance

p.s. Has anyone seen the new James Bond movie yet? I really want to see it!

My mother saw this movie. Earlier tonight she brought it up. She was going on about Jolie's performance. It really is good. I don't see how anyone (though I am sure there are a lot of people) could find fault with it. Even the people who dislike her. I don't know how they could say anything negative about her in here. I actually found myself wanting to cry for her more than once during some of her scenes.

It is a very depressing film. But you know what? It is a very frustrating film. The story is almost unbelievable. What the poor woman goes through is ungodly. It is so frustrating but that makes it all the more depressing.

Oh no, this means I am going to be crying lots.. I have to get better at this keeping my emotions off my face thing, cuz it can be quite annoying sniffling and tearing up all throughout a film...

Yes!! It's called Quantum of Solace. The lovely Daniel Craig returns!

I dunno...I'm leaning towards Spellbound again (I watched it last week too). Either that or something old..maybe The 39 Steps

Go to a matinee on a Monday. There is never anyone there then. I am sure it is the same in Canada. This way nobody will be there to witness you.

Oh, make it "The 39 Steps"! I love it!

I watched "Psycho" again a few weeks ago! 10/10!! DEFINITELY!!! It is beyond me how Anthony Perkins was ignored for this performance. He is great in here! Plus, quite cute! Yes, I have a crush on the young Anthony Perkins. So what?? I was watching him in a scene with Janet Leigh. He was smiling at her and I literally thought "How can you be so creepy when you're so cute".

Ouuu, I love both those films...I want to watch "Spellbound" again too, and maybe "Notorious" this next week - I just bought those two and they will be even better, second time around.

I just can't get enough of Ingrid Bergman. She's just amazing.

I could always watch The Man Who Knew Too Much...the first version, of course...

Oooohhh "The 39 Steps" is amazing!

The two I want to see again as I haven't seen them in forever are "Strangers on a Train" and "the lady vanishes"..

All of those are amazing. I love Hitchcock films. I especially love "The Lady Vanishes". Oh heck, I guess I like all of them the same amount.
