    Happy Birthday!

1 - How did you come about this site and what makes you keep coming back?
A couple of years ago I was looking for some info on Dickens' The Mystery of Edwin Drood and I happened upon this site. I kept checking it out until I decided to join. To save space, I will direct you to an entry in my blog for why I keep coming back. http://www.online-literature.com/forums/blog.php?b=6383

2 - Have you visited other countries than your own and what did you like about it or not like?
No, but I have been to quite a few states and they are so different that they are each like their own little country. The people, laws, histories, towns and scenery vary from state-to-state. For me, at least, it is like entering another country.

3 - What are your favorite hobbies ?
Reading (of course!), watching TV, watching movies, crocheting, going to the theater and adding to my long list of crazy collections.

4 - Do you have any pets?
    Yes. A cat.

5 - What makes you happy?
    When life flows smoothly.

    6. How can you get away with being online at work?
I never really was given a chance to try it.

    7. What is mankind's biggest achievement, and its greatest downfall?
Biggest achievement: The fact that they've managed to keep the world from imploding.
Greatest downfall: I used to say it was the 1990's, but now I am convinced it is "American Idol".

    8. If you had a long day of hard work ahead of you what music would you be playing on your mp3, while working?
I actually don't own one, but if I did, I guess it would either be classical or film scores. I can't listen to music with lyrics (not even opera) and try to concentrate at the same time.

    9. If you could take one book, music album and one video with you to a desert island, what would they be?
For my book, I suppose it would be Jane Eyre. As for the album and video, I don't think I would bring either one. After all, in order to experience them I would need electricity and I don't think the island will be equipped with that luxury.

    10. Which actress should play you in a movie based on your life?
    Kate Winslet

    11. What makes you smile? (Activities, people, events, hobbies, projects, etc.)
When I have to smile back at someone who has just smiled at me. Also, the sound of Vic Damone's voice when he is singing.

    12. What were your favorite things to do the past? What about now?
Well, whatever I liked to do in the past I still enjoy now (except I have stopped playing with Barbies ). Those things are listed in my hobbies. I am also really into dancing. Especially tap dancing.

    13. What activities make you lose track of time?
    Being online.

    14. What makes you feel great about yourself?
When I actually successfully accomplish a big goal.

    15. Who inspires you most? (Anyone you know or not. Family, friends, authors, artists, leaders, etc.) Which qualities inspire you, in each person?
Me. I am my own inspiration. When something doesn't go as planned, I get frustrated. My frustration is all the motivation and inspiration that I need to accomplish what I need to achieve.

    16. What are you naturally good at? (Skills, abilities, gifts etc.)
Nothing, really. Anything that I am good at didn't come naturally. It took time and practice.

    17. What do people typically ask you for help in?
Lying. Not like an alibi or anything of that sort, but the little white lies like skipping work or an appointment.

    18. If you had to teach something, what would you teach?

US History with the primary focus being on the American Civil War.

    19. What would you regret not fully doing, being or having in your life?
I'd regret not having a big-time acting career. Well, I can't actually control my luck, but I can at least control the path I'd choose to try to obtain some sort of lucky opportunity. So that is actually what I would regret.

    20. What song is in your head at the moment?
"WKRP in Cincinnati" theme song. For those of you who don't know what it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2drv0...eature=related

    21. The last book you bought/borrowed from the library?
Last book bought: I can't really remember. The last time that I bought something was a bunch of them from the Dollar Store, I think.
Last book borrowed: The play of "The Philadelphia Story"

    22. Which book are you reading at the moment?
Just beginning Until the End by Harold Coyle

    23. The last book you finished reading?
    The Brothers Karamazov

    24. Favorite food?/ Comfort food?
Lasagna/Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich (it MUST be creamy PB, grape jelly and white bread )

    25. Favorite outfit?
I am a jeans and t-shirt kinda gal. My favorite piece of clothing, though, is my "My House Was Debunked By Jason and Grant" t-shirt.

    26. What are you wearing at the moment?
A pair of purple pajamas with 2 sweaters on. Plus, my winter slippers and 2 pairs of socks. Yes, it is THAT cold in here!

    27. Favorite poem?
Abraham Lincoln's "My Childhood Home I See Again"

    28. First novel you remember reading on your own?
    Forster's Maurice

    29. Favorite TV shows?
Where do I begin? Well, first and foremost, the most important, and number one of all-time is "Little House on the Prairie". I also like "The Office", "Pushing Daisies", "Ghost Hunters", "Most Haunted" and "Dancing With the Stars". For shows no longer on primetime, I like "The Bob Newhart Show", "Father Ted", "Third Watch", "Homicide", "Frasier" and many, many more!

    30. Which LitNet members would you like to meet in person if you could?
There are a bunch of people but I think they should remain nameless. I would hate for an awkward moment of saying that I would like to meet this person but come to find out this person has NO desire to meet me.

    31. Favorite post on the Forum?
    I don't know.

    32. Favorite thread?
Probably "What Are You Reading Right Now?". I like to see what everyone else is reading at the moment.

    33. Last food did you have?
An Italian Chicken sandwich from Burger King.

    34. Last words you said out loud?
    There's absolutely nobody out there.

    35. Last person you hugged/kissed?
    My nephew.

    36. What do you do (for a living) to be able to keep your LitNet addiction going?
As of right now, nothing. Which is probably why I have this addiction.

    37. Are you happy with your chosen profession?
    Absolutely, positively not.

    38. What would you like to be if you could change your profession?
Well, a successful actor, of course, but until then, I don't know. I am considering a career change and I am playing around with different options.

    39. Least favorite book/song/movie?
A Wrinkle in Time/I can't pick a least favorite song - there are so many that I dislike/"Titanic"

    40. The most generous thing you have done?
I could tell you but a truly generous person never boasts about their generosity.

    41. What is your most outstanding feature?
I am assuming you mean physical feature, right? That would be my lips.

    42. If you could change one thing about the way you look, what would that be?
My height. I would love to be taller.

    43. Which book do you wish you had written?
    A Tale of Two Cities

    44. What is your favorite book cover?
The cover of Laura Ingalls Wilder's These Happy Golden Years

    45. Most and least favorite characters from books?
Most: Capt. Wentworth, Rochester, Sydney Carton, Rhett Butler, among many others
Least: Emma Wodehouse, Christine Daae and some others, but they are the worst

    46. What would your biography be titled?
    My Life, Thus Far

    47. What should you be doing at the moment instead of answering these questions?
I suppose getting ready for bed. I am deadly tired.

    48. Wonderful Superman or depressing Batman?
    SUPERMAN!!!!!

    49. The most embarrassing moment in your life?
I have had some embaressing things happen, but nothing that really stands out as the most embaressing.

    50. Which literary character (s) have you been told to resemble the most?
Nobody, actually, but I suppose that is because I don't really know anyone that reads! Looking at myself, I know I am a lot like Elizabeth Bennet. I am not too sure if that is a good thing or not.

    51. List some of the things that annoy you immensely.

People. I could go on and on about it, but I think I will just leave it at that.

    52. Anything that you want to forget but you never can?
There are loads of things like that but I would rather not mention them. I am trying to at least make myself forget them for a little while. If I brought them up, I would probably start to dwell on all of it again.

    53. One final word of wisdom for LitNet users?
My motto: "The sooner you do it, the sooner it is done".

    54. What would you like to ask to the person to be interviewed after you?

What question would you like to ask yourself?
    ~
"It is not that I am mad; it is only that my head is different from yours.”
    ~

Happy Birthday Lady Went. Great interview.

For some reason I think of you as younger than 30. But Welcome to the over thirty club.

You didn't mention Frank Sinatra in your interview. Well, here's a birthday present for you.

Oh, Niamh, you shouldn't have! You really do know a person, don't you?! Everything I would need/want! Thank you!!! That cake looks so good, too! Just the right colors, also! By the way, I think I especially need Good Luck Bear as my little charm. Also, I have never heard of ghostvillage.com. I will have to go check that out now.

    Thanks, Scher!

Logos, thanks and no problem! I had fun doing the interview!

TheInsomniac, thanks. Believe me, that is so true!

islandclimber, thank you! You're back?? It shows how I haven't really been around lately!

Virgil, just because I didn't mention Frankie doesn't mean I am not thinking about him! Well, I was younger than 30, but not now! So there is no reason for you to think it anymore! Sinatra on Reprise? Fantastic! But oh, that song has always been a downer for me. But a little Steve and Eydie (and hundreds of others including Liza) serenading Sinatra can always perk me up again! By the way, nice card! I love elephants! THANK YOU!!!

papaya, I love the cake. Plus, I get little action figures to go with it! Thanks! Gordon Jump! You gotta love him!

    Thank you very much, eyemaker!

Oh, yes, Janine, a little Vic is always good. That cake really looks good! But I am especially interested in trying those little ones. The flowers are very pretty! Thank you! Well, thank Vic for me! Glad you liked the interview.

    Thanks, Josef K!

    THANKS, ANDYA!!

*Classic*Charm*, that is fine. I welcome anything that includes Michael Scott. It was very good, though! Thank you! And, yes, those bananas are mesmerizing! I think a person could be hypnotized by them!
