    Happy Birthday, AdoreroDio!

    An interview with AdoreroDio:

1 - How did you come about this site and what makes you keep coming back?
Well, my friend actually introduced it to me, Lily Adams. And well, everything keeps me coming back, though I rarely have time to post. Mostly the Picture Poetry Contest, the shared haikus, I also enjoy reading discussions on poetry as well as poetry written on here.

2 - Have you visited other countries than your own and what did you like about it or not like?
People will disagree but people will be wrong too- I have been to two other countries and I have discovered the best country in the entire world. The greatest place in the world is El Salvador. I loved El Salvador and everything about it. The weather, the food, the land, and especially the very friendly people. I’ve also been to Canada. And All I saw of it was Niagara Falls, which is stunning, but I don’t think I can say much about the country. The only Canadians I saw were the ones that checked my passport. [ :

3 - What are your favorite hobbies ?
Writing poetry [ (: ], drawing, painting, photography, and dancing. Basically any of the arts. Oh, and how could I forget! Reading. I keep forgetting that technically is a hobby even if you are reading constantly.

4 - Do you have any pets?
Only the best dog in the universe. Jake.

5 - What makes you happy?
My God, my family, and my boyfriend. (I know I sound cheesy when I say that but I mean it, in that order)

    6. How can you get away with being online at work?
Haha, I don’t. I’m still a student and work only on weekends and night at a place with no computers so no temptation.

    7. What is mankind's biggest achievement, and its greatest downfall?
    Achievement= The Hubble telescope
Downfall= taking a bite of fruit

    8. If you had a long day of hard work ahead of you what music would you be playing on your mp3, while working?
Anything oldies, tobymac, soundtrack from de-lovely, and a cd mix my best friend made of very upbeat music.

    9. If you could take one book, music album and one video with you to a desert island, what would they be?
Bible, I would bring a mix CD- maybe, greatest Chritian hits of the 2008?, and Pollyanna or Princess Bride. I must say that Pollyanna is great because it would keep my spirits up but the Princess Bride is my favorite movie and I never get tired of watching it- which is a plus when it’s all you have. But then this is all assuming that on this island you also have 1) electricity 2) a video player and 3) a stereo. Which I somewhat doubt.

    10. Which actress should play you in a movie based on your life?
    Alexis Bledel (Gilmore Girls)

    11. What makes you smile? (Activities, people, events, hobbies, projects, etc.)
Almost everything that isn’t sad- all my hobbies, my family, my boyfriend, my friends, any Holiday, children especially make me smile, this website (we’ve got a lot of witty people on this site), creation, nature- basically everything.

    12. What were your favorite things to do the past? What about now?
It’s the same and my favorite thing is to just go camping, lay down, and look at the stars- appreciate all that God has done for me. Also, writing poetry and dancing come in close second and third. I guess dancing is different. I used to enjoy ballet as a child now I’m more into hip hop and tap.

    13. What activities make you lose track of time?
Reading, writing, and being on the internet

    14. What makes you feel great about yourself?
A job down to my best ability

    15. Who inspires you most? (Anyone you know or not. Family, friends, authors, artists, leaders, etc.) Which qualities inspire you, in each person?
My God (does that count, I mean technically you didn’t say it had to be a person)
Qualities? Well, love, complete and undying love.

    16. What are you naturally good at? (Skills, abilities, gifts etc.)
Poetry, reading people, picking out beautiful scenes and things, listening to music (and that is a talent, I can tell what chord is being played, if a note was sour, and if the music is really good, if it was played with talent or with a beginner)

    17. What do people typically ask you for help in?
Academics. That’s about it. Well, and at my church if there’s any children problems or worker shortages they ask me then to.

    18. If you had to teach something, what would you teach?
I do teach. Sunday school. And I plan to teach EFL, or English as a Foreign language as well as art.

    19. What would you regret not fully doing, being or having in your life?
I would regret not always doing my best, being in a job that helps others, and not having good relationships with the people I care about.

    20. What song is in your head at the moment?
Well, before the question was asked, nothing. Now Awesome in This Place is stuck in my head.

    21. The last book you bought/borrowed from the library?
    Bought: The Red Tree

    22. Which book are you reading at the moment?
The Scarlet Letter, Uncle Tom’s Cabin, The Field Guide to Narnia, the Bible and that’s it. I enjoy reading a lot at one time.

    23. The last book you finished reading?
Haha, Animorphs The Visitor. I just picked it up at a friends house while watching her animals- normally I wouldn’t read anything like that. lol

    24. Favorite food?/ Comfort food?’Chicken (cooked in all ways)/ dark chocolate (and I mean dark, at least 70 % cacao)

    25. Favorite outfit?
A good pair of worn-in jeans, my boots, and my Live out Loud t-shirt.

    26. What are you wearing at the moment?
A pair of comfortable jeans, socks, and a brown long sleeved shirt over a blue tank-top. Oh, and the socks are mix-matched colors ( :

    27. Favorite poem?
The Fire, The Speech – a poem in Spanish by Octavio Paz

    28. First novel you remember reading on your own?
The Boxcar Children Series #5, either that or the Secret Garden

    29. Favorite TV shows?
Gilmore Girls, Mythbusters, and Extreme Makeover Home Edition (though I may point out I don’t have TV)

    30. Which LitNet members would you like to meet in person if you could?
    KizPaws

    31. Favorite post on the Forum? It’s actually a poem by Mir
I sold my life on Ebay
    But nobody would bid
I put me up for 50 cents,
    Shipping included.

    “Free slave for life!”
    The banner said,
    “Great deal! All limbs,
    A mind, a head!
    We’ll even throw in –
    Wholly free! –
    A sparkling personality!
    Need a helper,
    Need a friend?
    Here’s one on whom
    You can depend.
    Money buys you
    Love for life!
    She cooks! She cleans!
    A wholesale wife!”

    The auction stood
    For seven days
    No reserve price,
    Or shipping plays
    I checked for bids
    To claim the thing
    Sitting in
    My packaging.
    At last PayPal
    Gave me the news:
    Ten minutes left –
    Now three, now two!
    This life rose to
    The list’s top place
    As seconds beat
    My heart’s quick pace.
    With only moments
    Left to spare
    The bubble wrap
    Caught at my hair;
    Styrofoam peanuts
    Blocked my view
    But when I sold,
    I somehow knew.

    So here and now
    I live my life
    Not as helper,
    Not as wife
    But happy, because of
    That day
    When I bought myself
    On Ebay.

    Happy Birthday, AdoreroDio!

It was nice reading your interview. The poem of mir that you have posted here also happens to be one of my favourites.
I sang of leaves, of leaves of gold, and leaves of gold there grew.
