Everyone can call me a nerd now. I nominate The Peloponnesian War by Thucydides.

Yeah, but its chances of being chosen are probably slim to none.

As long as the books are available in English, it doesn't matter whether they are sold by third parties or amazon itself. It is our members' responsibility to get hold of the books that they would like to read. Of course, it might be a determing factor when it is voting time (I.e., people might not like to vote for the books which are not readily available.)

    Nominations so far:

    1. Zorba the Greek by Nikos Kazantzakis.

    2. Captain Michalis by Nikos Kazantzakis".

    3. Odyssey by Homer

    4. Tales From a Greek Island by Alexandros Papadiamontis

    5. The Third Wedding by Costas Taktsis

    6. The Peloponnesian War by Thucydides

I've gotten a lot of these lately. I'll take it as a compliment. You guys should check out the photoalbum thread more often.

I'm a junior in high school, by the way.

I have just received a present from my brother: Uncle Petros and Goldbach's Conjecture by Apostolos Doxiadis. So I would like to nominate that title please.

Hey great idea bouquin I love this book Mr Doxiadis is a scholar. If i am not mistaken he is a mathematician and this book is about mathematics (although one doesn't necessarilly have to understand mathematics in order to read the book). He is also involved with theater and cinema

I'm going to try my best to join this read. I'm very interested in several of the nominations. All I can say is that right now, I think this very moment, my mother-in-law is enjoying a cruise through the Greek islands, and I'm really really friggin jealous.
