I get stressed out a lot with my educational path...and lately my dad has been so wonderful. He doesn't tell me choose one path, or to quit while I am ahead. Sometimes I feel like I am trying to learn everything there is to learn and that I might be pushing myself too hard...but one day when my university was really messing with my credits and education path...my dad said that I have the whole world before me, and plenty of time...just knock off one goal at a time and I can get to where I want to. He told me to always continue to learn.
When I was younger my dad used to tell me that I would be a heartbreaker. Thought that was just something sweet that dads tell their daughters, well...years later I find out my dad was right. And he is so wonderful...whenever some guy would make me cry, he would tell me that it was not worth crying about, someone else would come along. Kind of the cliche "there are plenty of fish in the sea." But that always comforted me, he's put a lot of my guy situations into perspective for me.

he gives me lots but a few that i remember at the moment are:
1. kung ayaw, maraming dahilan; kung gusto, maraming paraan. (if you don't want it, there are lots of excuses; if you want it, there are lots of ways.)
2. it will pass. (i was feeling particularly bad a bout the results of our debate tournament and i was telling him about it. i was telling my mom and she was just saying, that's life, which by the way i do agree with, but i was just so irked by the debate. then my dad called, asking me how it went, and after all the rambling, he simply said, "it will pass". i calmed down after that.

When I was little, I used to get beat up a lot (I still have lots of scars to prove it) the other girls where just stronger and meaner. But my dad taught me how to fight. Pealrs of his fighting wisdom:
"Stand strong and face life down"
"Steel-toed boots are a girl best friend" (this one is proven true just ask all the guys I fought in middle school!)
"bite, kick and hold on!"
and "People are stupid. get used to it" (this is still part of my life philosophy)
So, even thought he's psycho. I love my dad. Thanks to him, the last person who tried to steal my purse ended up regretting it. and I learned a bunch of stuff which I really can remember now.
