I didn't think Midnight's Children was a bad book, but it couldn't hold my interest for long; however, One Flew was horrible. I can't believe I finshed it. I was like a horrid accident, no matter how bad it was I couldn't look away. Which is usually the effect Cult classics give you. I'm not a part of the cult, but I'm sure there's a legion for this disaster.

I agree, nick. I didn't get to read many of the book club books, but I was able to read this one. Can you believe it? I missed so many great books, but not this one.

The ones I picked (The Grass Harp and A Prayer for Owen Meany) weren't horrible, but were my worst reads of the year and I wouldn't recommend them.

Virgil> Your vote does not appear in the poll?

I find Midnight's Children extremely boring. Admittedly, I still haven't finished it (working on it though) but since the first 100 pages haven't impressed me much, I doubt the rest will.

Interestingly enough, this year all the books I voted for are the books I had heard lots and lots about and was impatient to read myself as well. I was very disappointed, to say the least.

I skipped to many books this year. I'm still trying to get through Run, Rabbit, Midnight's Children, and Call of Cthulhu. I voted for Women in Love, I didn't much care for that book.

Couldn't complete To The Lighthouse but as I didn't read it fully, I don't think I shall judge it...
