As a Catholic, I had to go to confession when I was a child of 8 or 9. Normally I couldn't think of many sins to confess, except "I lied" or "I took some candy from the cupboard". Then we were given a book that told us what sins might be confessed. So next time I told the priest "I wasn't chaste". I didn't have the faintest idea what the word meant. I thought it was just as good as the other ones and might do for a change. I'm still wondering what the priest was trhinking back then. It's dark in the confessional so I couldn't see him.
