I'm in the process of learning to draw. It's such an amazing process, on so many levels. I haven't drawing in over a year but think about it often. Here's one of my final sketches from a class I had.

These are some old drawings. The first one is actually copied from a book cover (How to Draw Portraits?) and the second one is sort of a self-portrait, though the mouth doesn't look like me at all.

your self portrait actually looks like a swedish girl who works with me.

I love this portion of LitNet -- all our artists can let us in on their world. Thank you all for generously showing your stuff -- love it! Keep it coming!

when i was in secondary school(think 5th year) we went to The National Gallery of Ireland to sketch Icon. Our task was to select an Icon, draw it, that as a class project abstract it.
So i chose this one. Was the only one who did and used colour pencils to sketch it.

and abstracted to look like this. (sorry never completed. was supposed to try cool colours on the other side. so technically this was the second last stage of the project.)

Those are ALL lovely drawings and sketches. I wish I could draw like that! My drawings hardly ever have "meaning" or anything like that.

Why don't you finish it, Niamh? Cool colors on the other side sound like a brilliant idea.

Annamariah and pinkmoon, those portraits are AMAZING. They do look real! Fantastic job!

    Mine:

    "DEVO Tribute" Self-explanitory.

"Ed Wood" He was a transvestite, so I drew him in his man clothes and then in his Angora sweater, etc. No, he was not a fruit.

"Business man Mutant" I thought of this today. I was relaxing in my room when I thought, "Business man+mutant=BUSINESS MAN MUTANT. I must draw that!" Complete with tentacles!

"Trouble At Versailles" This is sort of an old one...a couple months...

Lovely drawings, Niamh! You should complete the other side too and by the way, I have loved the light colours in the first one.

Lily, nice drawings, I have especially liked your first one! It looks neat.

thanks pensive and lily. it was about eight years ago when i did that. too late to finish now.

Lily i really like those sketchs. What a creative mind you have!
heres some more of mine. i did my art project of my junior cert on the abbey theatre so heres a couple of things from it.
this is a poster for the Playboy of the Western World which includes the original cast names and ticket prices.

This is my version of the cover of Murder at the Abbey Theatre by Hogan and Douglas. Mine is slightly different as i mimiced their characatures and create some of my own. Most of who i added had no association with the abbey, Wilde was dead before it was opened. but here it is any way!
