I don't know what it is. How does it look like (pic?)
Shall these bones live?
I am posting a pic that I found Googling. I have altered the pic only to display the hair style that I was talking about.... so that explains why I have 'disguised' the face of the girl with the pixie cut:
No offence to the young lady, but you can see that the close crop of the hair was not really that flattering, and my hair just hung (flopped) short to my face, no style at all.... like a bowl was put on my bean and snip snip away....
Once, the hairdresser was smoking, and the ashes of a cigarette that was badly needed to be flicked away, dropped on my neck when he was snipping and I jumped and he cropped away too much above my eyebrows. Oh my word, you really should have seen the mess I was. Grrrrr! Thankfully smoking in the hair salons is a thing of the past...

Hello, Opti! I welcomed you back in another thread, but hey, it SURE is good to see you again!
Would you like a piece of this delicious danish roll that I am enjoying? Coffee or tea (we have some lovely peach tea, just 'cuz Downy loves peach!)![]()

My mom got me the pixie cut once, too. I have to agree about not liking it at all. It is way too short and on most little girls it makes them look like a little boy.
Agh, I must agree the pixie cut looks pretty horrific. A nice short, above the ears mushroom cut can sometimes be pulled off as cute...
I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of anything than of a book! When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.

Well speaking about hair, a couple of years ago I decided to use a highlighter and it rendered my wheat blonde hair with streaks of that platinum blonde look, but it also rendered my hair to be totally impossible to comb out after washing. What a nightmare it was for quite some time. I am now in the process of still growing that out. No more for me. (btw it was a hair dresser who did the job, not some cheap homemade stuff, either!)
UNLESS ... someone can give me a pointer or two as to what went wrong there... So many other girls highlight their hair in the streaks (you know?). Does every one of them pull out half their hair after washing it, or was it just my bad luck?![]()

Yeah, I've had the pixie cut too. My hair was so curly and always poked me on the eyes.
KP: Maybe your hair got really tangly?
Shall these bones live?
Not more tangly than usual (I have curly hair, too, remember, until I straighten it). No, it was feeling like straw, what a price to pay for light streaks...![]()

Could have been worse. You could have gotten some hair frome the front side of your head tangled in a hot curling brush while you were in secondary school and the only way to free your hair was to cut it frm the brush leaving this terrible tuff of hair that stuck up from the side of your head. couldnt even do anything with it, couldnt even use it as a fringe. embarrassing to say the least......![]()
We actually call that a bowl cut over here, because you can actually do it by puting a bowl on someones head and cutting around it.
Hey opti welcome back!
Half my hair falls out when washing anyway. Have very coarse and fragile hair. Happens when you damage your hair which can happen if they used a bleached based probuct to highlight you hair!

My friend has dark blonde hair and highlights it light blonde in summer. She has never had a problem and thusly I suspect your hairdresser overprocessed your hair. The bleach only needs to stay on a short while if you have lighter hair. You could always ask someone who has nice highlights if she would recommend a salon for you. I know that probably seems weird, but sometimes it is the only way to find out information.![]()
I have heard of bowlcuts. My hair is very fine and snarls easily and when I was about 6 or 7 my mother cut it all off (not using a bowl, but that is what the result looked like) because I used to cry and scream when she tried detangling it. Of course, buying me some hair conditioner might have helped but anyway. I ended up looking like one of those kids on the cans of Campbell's soup.![]()

I like that yellow sweater thing-ma-jig you've got on there Idril (seriously - it reminds me of when I was little)
About blonde highlights kiz, I had mine highlighted for the longest time and didn't have problems combing it out either. I did use shampoos and conditioners that said "For color-treated hair" or "Moisterizing" though --- maybe that helped out a little.
My guess is that Kathy is right and your hair stylist left your foils in too long (or did you get the dreaded cap?). Don't you hate it when you get a bad hairdresser? I strayed from my normal salon and tried to have someone darken my hair because I was sick of the highlights and I ended up with this soupy looking goldish greenish hueThen I had to spend big bucks again getting someone to weave lowlights and highlights through it to disguise the poopy color.
Now I am back to my natural color which is real dirty blonde (and I was born with hair as light as Idril's in those photos up there -- why does it have to darken?).
I am considering red hair. I am going to go with a demi-permenant and wear it around until it washes out and see if I like it. I had a semi-permanent red dye job at Christmas that washed out -- it was okay but I did it myself and I think a professional could have selected a more flattering shade perhaps.
