Well, I didn't want to do it, but If finally watched Ghost Rider and I liked it so much that now I have Blackheart as my lit net avatar. Something about a flaming man on a motorcycle didn't appeal to me at all, but I was surprised ---the movie was actually good. Of course, those comic book movies are usually good enough so I don't know why those previews didn't grab my attention. Anyway 9/10

I found this film pretty good, not at all "too long" or "talky". I have no idea how accurate it is (I did not know that Alfred de Musset was Sand's lover - or that he even existed - before watching this), but I can't say I really watch historical drama for its biographical value - not when we have cool things like books in which to find such matter. Musset is quite a twerp, repeatedly, endlessly, to Sand, and I found it interesting to watch how she reacts to such...uncouth, frivolous behavior on the part of someone she has such affection for, perhaps because I, the uninformed, naive viewer, kept waiting with her for him to get his act together... Of course, JB is hardly the masculine creature that George Sand is said to have been (who had, according to Chopin, a "face like a horse"), which is probably something Davis stresses more in her performance, but it isn't like she plays up her femininity - and I guess it isn't like I'll ever be able to really complain about having to look at Binoche, as a woman, for two hours!
