Never really thought about it until the other day. I gave a man a ride because he locked his keys in his car and needed to go home for a second set. He offered to pay me, but I noticed his tag had a Purple Heart veteran on it. I indicated the tag and told him he already paid me more than I could ever repay him. Think about that the next time you enjoy your freedom. Men like that guy are the reason we still have it. Not the elected man, but the one who puts his life on the line. There's a hero. The police, firefighters, rescue squad personal, forest rangers, soldiers, sailors, ordinary citizens who go the extra mile, to save a stranger, they are my heroes. The man who will lay his life on the line for others, there is my hero.

    Same question.

    Some of us lie

There is this older woman who has endured unspeakable hardships. Her first husband was childlike for decades after an accident, one of her daughters was violently attacked as a young girl (it was bad), her second husband suffered a stroke just a month after their wedding and has never regained the ability to speak. She has cared for dozens of sick and dieing friends and relatives and this is just the things that come quickly to mind.

I have never seen her that she wasn’t smiling. Even when I’ve come to offer help she has asked what she can do for me. She is a real trooper and my example and my hero.

I cried because I hate getting screamed at...

Same question to the next poster?

Unfortunately, my illness sometimes messes with my emotions. Last time I cried, it was because I was having a crisis.

It was a bridal shower at my house for a woman in our church who's getting married. I wore an antique white pineapple? lace dress that was first my grandmother's, then my mom's, and now mine. With it my Mom lent me her white gloves and blue beaded flower pin that matched with my blue denim shoes. lots of fun.

    same question.

    "To talk of many things:
    Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax--
    Of cabbages--and kings--
And why the sea is boiling hot--
    And whether pigs have wings."

Suit and tie. I was soloist singer on "The Rose" and had a young lady accompany me vocally on "You Needed Me." Hopefully, I will never sing at another wedding!

Would you face an fairly large audience you've never met with maybe two hours or less to prepare? (The only people you know are those that came with you, and half of them you met the day before)!

    Yep.

Would you stand up in a crowded restaurant and sing "Happy Birthday" solo to a friend if requested to do so?
