Because they have "higher taste" than everyone else? Might be.

What do you think about predictions for the future?

I knew you were going to ask that.

I eat to live long enough to be hungry again: is that a Zen thing?

that's certainly a not-gonna-gain-extra-weight thing. It's easy to snack, if one doesn't watch oneself.

I get songs stuck in my head for days at a time. Who else does that?

I know that happens to me a lot...I actually have Blondies" The Tide is High" stuck in my head right now....

Why does pressing the snooze button feel so good in the morning?

Because you WIN! You've got technology beat, if you press the snooze, and get a few more minutes of sleep.
Domer, is it because you saw the Song thread? That's a good one. I've got "String of Pearls" stuck in my head.

Why do we say "You've got," if it really means, you have got? The grammar doesn't seem right there, but if you SAY "You've got (whatever)" out loud, it works.

Maybe because they wish they could "be like that," so they have to know what is going on in their lives . . . "She got divorced again, what's wrong with her? I wouldn't have divorced the first guy!" Celebrities are easy targets to cut down, but sometimes we cheer them on, too. Isn't it cool if someone puts on a benefit concert, and sends all the money to people in need? 'S better than if they kept it for themselves, like usual.

I guess I meant, why don't we say, "You have it," or "You got it," instead of "You've got it"? The third is unneccessary -- we could just use one or the other. Explainations, anyone?

    Exclamation

You got it. That what we always say. Abbot and Costello used to say "Now you got it." To which Costello would cry "Now I got it? I don't even know what I'm talkin' about!"

Knowing that in the Three Stooges short films, the Howard Brothers and Larry Fine actually did hit each other with various implements which lead to the deaths of brothers Jerry (Curley) and Sherman (Shemp), does that make the slapstick less funny for you?

Really???? hmmmmm you're suppossing that I found it funny in the first place... umm but yeah some of it is still funny.

What is you favorite TV show?

(I did some research - Shemp died of a heart attack at 60, Curly died of a stroke - could have been brought on by slapstick, Larry died at 72, Moe lived to 77, Joe was 80 when he kicked it).

The Simpsons (should I have posted under a pseudonym for that?)

Why are the Blues "blue" instead of another color?

    Smile

The music came from the songs sung by slaves in the cotton fields. The blues is supposed to be sad music.

If you find yourself on the losing end of an argument, can you withdraw gracefully or metaphorically speaking, sling dirt all the way?

I dont have arguing capability, but if at all I am in such a situation I will withdraw gracefully.

Dirt? Is that what they call it these days? I always called it "sailor talk" and you bet I sling all the way!

Q: If a line could see in two dimensions, it would perceive the plane. If a plane could see in three dimensions, it would perceive the universe. If a universe could see in four dimensions, it would perceive time. What do you suppose we might perceive if we could see in five dimensions?
