Hi to you all. I am brand new and shiney here. I come from Merrie olde England and I would rather read than eat. The biggest problem with books that I have is when the darned thing slides into the bath.....I probably have the wrinkliest book collection in the UK

lol. I know what you mean! My copy of The Amber Spyglass got mouldy after it fell in the bath so I had to throw it away .

Just thought I'd say hello and thanks for putting together a literature forum. Who'd have thought the internet could be so interesting! Here's my brief introduction:

I'm a Londoner but live in rural west Wales, and enjoy most forms of literature. I write some poetry and short stories, and non-fiction articles, and I'm currently researching a phd in English Renaissance poetry at the University of Wales, looking particularly into the sonnet and it's representation of the self and consciousness.

I also have interests in Milton, the English Victorian novel, and the Romantic period, particulalry Blake and Wordsworth.

Hope to make some contributions to our discussions.

    Hi! New here!
I come from Greece. Actually i have two hobbies (movies and reading) well..also travelling when there is extra money to spend!
Now i read the Count of Monte Cristo. It's fascinating!
It's difficult to tell which is my favourite book. I'll just name a few that come to mind..such as "The Lord Of The Rings", "Jane Eyre", "Bleak House" and almost everything from Terry Pratchet and Douglas Adams.

Welcome Manolia! I too love movies, reading, and travel. Those are some great favorite books you have! I am sure you will really like it here!
I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of anything than of a book! When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.

Ahoj, všichni. I'm new here, I'm Czechoslovakian. I more or less devote most of my time to writing, because of personal reasons. The Count of Monte Cristo is an interesting book but I limit my reading since it will interfere with my own writing. Has anyone ever read The Face in the Frost? You guys need a better writer's club though, or maybe just add another one.
