Now guess who's allergic, too ?
It has never been that bad with me, though. I got stung a couple of times over the years; it turns into a nasty multi-coloured lump and hurts for 2 or 3 weeks, not only the spot but the whole part of the body the beast decided to sting. And that is something I definetely try to avoid by all means.
Bees, however, at least give honey, but who the heck needs wasps ?!?

I have Hemophobia. (Dunno if it's listed in your list of phobias, Poetess.) My eyes dim, earth spins, have difficulty breathing, and I feel weak when I see blood. When I smell blood. When I touch blood. When the blood drips from my skin!!! If you want me dead in an instant, show me a guillotined person.

Its good I dont have any phobias.....

Well, okay, I think I am not comfortable in closed spaces, I mean places that are very narrow, hardly any ventilation. Whenever I see on tv someone going in for an MRI scan, inside that huge machine, I think i'll come out dead if I ever have to get this done or will surely behave like a child throwing tantrums so that I can get away without the scan . Perhaps, not dead, and the fear factor doesnt seem to be very high, but this definitely makes me uncomfortable.

The closest thing to my phobia I found was Hypnophobia- Fear of sleep or of being hypnotized but that's not quite right. I have a very intense phobia of being sedated and it makes dealing with my sleeping issues very difficult because most of the medications prescribed for that are by nature, sedating and if I start to feel that unnatural sleepiness and heaviness, I just panic. It ends up having the opposite effect because I fight the effects of it so hard. I had nasal surgery a few years back and I wasn't nervous about the procedure at all, it wasn't until I got to the pre-op room and saw all those sedated zombies that I started to freak. The doctor was worried about my high heart rate, which is high anyway because of some heart condition but when I told him how panicked I was about these zombies, they couldn't even stand up, they had to be wheeled into surgery, he assured me that that sedation prior to surgery wasn't necessary so that made me happy but coming out of the general anesthesia was awful, I don't even want to talk about it.

My 12 year old son has Emetophobia- Fear of vomiting. And not just a mild case, he has to be on medication or else every other phrase out of his mouth would be, "Do you think I'm going to throw up?" That boy can get a scratch on his arm and somehow connect it to throwing up. He's a good example of how a silly little phobia can completely overwhelm a life. The upside is that he's probably never going to be a drinker, once he heard that you can throw up from drinking alcohol, he turned into a temperance enthusiast.

And my other son has Didaskaleinophobia- Fear of going to school.

porcelain bones strong enough to carry a life,
    but weighty and unmovable

Well, I've never quite found the name for this but I have a fear of sleeping at night. I can sleep at night though it's a very wakeful sleep usually lasts for only an hour or two and in order to fall asleep I have to spend about two hours prior to that lying in the dark, usually music or a movie helps so I'm focused on that and fall asleep from extreme tiredness. Other than that I usually have to find time to sleep during the day (I have a period of 2 hours inbetween classes where I normally sleep) so I end up with 4 or 5 hours of sleep in a day usually and on weekends, usually more. People always think I'm afraid of the dark or night when I explain this, but actually that is my favorite part of the day, I prefer it I'm not scared of the night just sleeping during it.
I think this fear developed when I was around 14 and as far as I can tell I think most of it came from that time when I had an obsession with dying, and just the association with sleep and death and lying there in a dark room and going to sleep, scared the hell out of me. I am getting better, not falling asleep but usually I can stay asleep or have a bit more of a sound sleep if I can manage to fall asleep.

Let`s call it Arachnophobia. I had it for a short time. Later on, I used to hunt them and trap them in bottles with friends of mine. Then, we used to count everyone`s score and announce a winner.. xP I`m not cruel enough loool

Hey dear, well you can call it Hypnophobia. It`s all about sleeping. Everyone of us must have had this phobia when he/she was young enough.

Lately, I started noticing that my 3-year-old neighbor is having some sort of phobia of closing a door. When she wants to enter a room i`m in, she stands outside and ask me not to shut the door when she enters.

OMG! I turned out to be stuffed with fears! However i`m a normal person. These are not my only fears, yet i`ll state the most important two now, and down some others.. later one i`ll post another fears of mine!

    IMP:
    *
Bogyphobia- Fear of bogeys or the bogeyman. (it kills me if i look underbed, under a couch, or in a closet)*

Bathmophobia- Fear of stairs or steep slopes.*

Climacophobia- Fear of stairs, climbing, or of falling downstairs.*
*(I just call my sister to turn on the lights of the building before I go up, especially when the elevator is off and i`ll have to go climbing stairs. Morever, I might lose mind or conscience if I was on stairs and someone is climbing it behind me, no matter if this person is some floors away or next to me)

    then comes:

    Acrophobia/Altophobia- Fear of heights.
Aeroacrophobia- Fear of open high places.
    Agraphobia- Fear of sexual abuse.
    Androphobia- Fear of men.

Actually, I've been told I have somniphobia by a doctor Poetess, but since it only bothers me at night it's kind of a different case, where I can have perfectly normal daytime sleeping patterns but extreme difficulty sleeping at night.
Also, I have an obsessive compulsive disorder (and a few others) that make me sort of weird about certain things and I show tendencies to certain other phobias if things are not exact. I lean a bit towards Spermophobia (I always thought it was jsut called germaphobia), where depending on what it is, I will become absolutely terrified of certain things (this leads to odd situations since I try to be extremely polite). For instance if I'm drinking something and there is a single speck in the liquid I am utterly utterly repulsed, and if I notice it while I'm drinking a gag reflex kicks in and I get extremely frightened (I don't know why) or if I notice it after I've drank some, this of course with my obsessiveness leads me to checking a glass before use and sometimes washing it before each use (In my house I have my own set of glassware that others can't use). But in other situations something like that bothers me, so it's not full blown.
There are a few other weird things, that go along with me, but I think those two would be the ones people would notice the most.

^^ Yes, Somniphobia and Hypnophobia are somewhat the same.

I think hypnophobia has more to do with involuntary sleeping though. I could be wrong though.

Are you sure, Poetess? Because I would associate it more with sleep because of Hypnos being the greek god of sleep.

Themis, this i`m not sure about for one case (IMO): if the pre-word combined with the word "Phobia" is originally greek, then Hypnophobia will definitely mean the phobia of sleep.

On the other hand, if the word is originally basic`ly English, then it would have to do with Hypnotism..

However, they both are about a sleep, but the first is due to natural reason (which is drowsiness).

Both the words are greek. "Phobia" derives from "phobos" - fear. Phobos was the god of fear in greek mythology.
