    Revive An Old Thread

Since we have many new members and new threads added to our Forum daily, I thought it might be interesting to revive some of the old threads and hear what our new members think on those.

    Here are some twists though:

    - To start the game, I will ask members whose user names start with a certain letter of the alphabet to revive an old thread.

    - When 'reviving' an old thread, please post with different colour/font 'Revived!' so that we know that you are taking part in the game.

    - The first member -whose name starting with the said letter- who gets to 'revive' an old thread will get to decide which members revive new -old- threads.

-If you are the first person to revive a thread, please come back here and call out for the next letter.

-Please feel free to nominate a new letter if no one revives a thread within the next 48 hours.

So please watch this space for my announcement to start the game before the day is over!

As always, the usual Forum Rules apply!

I'm a bit dense at times, sorry.

Are the letters for user names chosen randomly?
Do we have to submit our willingness to play before being selected, or is everyone automatically involved?
So, the person who's chosen gets to pick who will revive a thread, or they get to revive a thread of their choice?
Does the chosen person revive only a thread that they've started, or any thread?
Do we revive a thread by simply posting in it and stating that it is a revival, or is there some editing that needs to happen to the initial post in that thread?
What if we refuse (I don't know why we would) to revive anything, or the person chosen happens to be on hiatus?
What if the chosen one is not paying attention to the decisions--will they be notified by PM that they've won?
Is there any sort of race against time, or other members involved? I assume that the revivals will have to be made in a timely manner.
Will more than one member with the selected letter be chosen at a time?

Just questions. It sounds like a great idea anyway.

Yeah, I was confused too. Not sure of the process or what's intended.

Sorry if my initial post was not clear enough:

    - The caller just choose a letter randomly, not a certain member. So any member whose name start with that certain letter can take part.

    - Those who would like to take part can revive any old thread.

    - We revive the old thread by simply posting 'revived' in various colours/fonts.

    - The quickest member who revives a thread will get to choose which letter of the alphabet (hence members whose name starting with that particular letter) will get to revive a thread.

    - The aim of the game is simply... to revive old threads. Once they are revived, hopefully people will read and reactivate those threads by posting in them.

    Here is an example:

Let's say I call S. All members whose name start with S can go and choose a thread to revive now. The quickest one who does so will get to call the next letter.

Oooohhh! What a coincidence! My name starts with 'S'!

    Here's the thread I have revived: http://www.online-literature.com/for...343#post300343

And since I was the S who revived a thread in the quickest time, I will pick the next letter.

So, seriously now: Anyone whose name start with 'J', please revive an old thread!

Oh now I get it. So someone with the name starting with "J" is next. Jay? We're waiting.

EDIT: Holy smoke. Where did Jay just come from?

Blast! Just as I was about to revive a thread I lost my connection. That was hours ago. Oh well, Jay's choice is much more fun.

    It's...it's alive!

That thread has been brought back to life before, only to suffer yet another untimely demise. Hopefully, we can keep it going this time....

    How about....M
