what's a student conference, Night?
in case anyone cares to know: I managed to leave the radio on (news station) last night and slept like a log from 11 to 5 anyway! When I woke up at 5, I switched it off though.

It was like this meeting/confrence thing where all these speakers came and told us all the FABOULOUS things other than tradional libraries you can do with a librarianship degree...the oonly bad thing is it got me all fired up and enthusiastic but I have to wait 3 years before I can do anything about it.

yeah, the other day a friend and me were saying we'll be burned out even before we become teachers, how can they expect us to be young and full of energy if they keep us in school till we're 27 and drain all our energy with their endless exams?
so, what fabulous things can you do with a librarianship degree?

They can also go on to do jobs that appear to have nothing in common with Information & library management e.g. the Head deputy fire officer for Durham county is a chartered librarian, but the organising and good management skills that are taught are transferable and help in almost any sector.
but its more than that in theory this means that I can do somthing to 'actually help people' like work providing and facilitating ( thats my word for today the vital flow of information for somthing really worth while like oh I dont know hospitals or WHO or the red cross or any other amazing institution... I might even convince the un/eu to hire me
Or I can be somthing like a lectorer at uni and help 'mold the minds of generations'
starry eyed nieve enthusiasum I know but I cant help it

** Considers the prospect of generations of students handing in reports written solely in smilies
