Hi there, I found this forum kind of by accident, and am really glad I did! I love to read, and look forward to some wonderful discussions here. I enjoy reading mysteries, history, either fictional or non-fiction, and really just stories about people, their lives. How and why they did what.
I suppose that about covers it for now.
Now off to see what is going on around here.

I am finally reading(in my golden years), Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austin. It's not bad. I get involved from the 1st few chapters. I guess I need to stop being a lurker and respond to some of the posts. Merry

Hi everyone. I really don't remember how I found this forum, must have been on one of my late night searches. I am a wife and a mother of four children. I love to read, and I am currently writing several short stories and a novel.

My two favorite genres are literary fiction and humor. I love to laugh and to think deeply and if I can do both, then all the better.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you better.

Hi there plainjane, Merry and Allison !!
    Be you warmly welcome !

plainjane, I'm sure you'll find a lot of people around here sharing your mystery, history and biographical interests ! A good place for discussing "how and why they did what" is the Forum Book Club. Or you just open a new thread for a discussion on the book you're currently reading

Merry, I do envy you for living in Maine ! I've only read about the place as a setting in books, but I'd so love to visit myself and see the Indian Summer ! Hope you'll enjoy yourself around here !

Allison, it's nice to see another writer joining our lines ! Your experiences and ideas will surely be appreciated here !

Hope you'll all stay with us and allow us to get to know you better !

Welcome welcome Plainjane and Allison. I'm not sure how I found this site either, but I'm still here!

    I love my job. Working in a used book store, I get to see a lot of things that have long been out of print. I have found many interesting books that I might otherwise never have known about. As for questions about editions and the like, well, I'll answer what I can. n_n;;

    Hello everyone,

I graduated with a BA in literature and technical communication in December '05. Well, as some of you may be able to relate to, I'm sorely in need of literary stimulation! I miss my lectures and essays - in fact, I miss college in general. So, here I am, at a literary forum, the first I've joined.

I'm an INTP in MBTI, which stands for Myers-Brigg Type Instrument. I took a class on personality theory in college, and I read Jung's personality theories in depth. MBTI is an offshoot of Jung's personality theory.

The British Romantic and Modern literary eras are my personal favorites; if I go to graduate school, chances are I will concentrate on either Romanticism or Modernism. Alternately, I might concentrate on technical communication, since I need to eat.

    Welcome to the Forum, Detire!

To be able to vote in the Book Club polls, you need to have at least 50 posts, which is not a big challenge once you start visiting the Forum's Games section!

Hope to see you around! And please do not hesitate to PM if you have any further questions about the Forum!

    Madeline: An introduction

    Hi! I'm new here.

My name is Madeline, I'm an American university student.

I'm taking this year off to earn money and travel in SE Asia with Thich Nhat Hanh.

I love Modernism and post-Modernism to a degree that is truly stupid. Literature, visual art, theater, music -- all of it, I adore.

Right now I'm reading Lolita for the first time, which is a thrilling experience.

I love travel, the french language, avocadoes, and amatuer photography.

    Excited to be here.
