Pretty sure I've never read anything so filthy as Mr. Aristophanes's "Lysistrata". One can only handle so many phallic puns...
(Yes, I suppose this isn't terribly random; but it is for you, anyway.)

Some people will tell you that meatloaf can be cooked in twenty-five minutes. Those people are liars.

Is a bad dream enough to justify emailing a lifelong friend and saying:

hi just checking you haven't splashed boiling oil in your face or fallen down the stairs and developed gangrene in your big toe and I don't need to catch a plane and fly halfway across the world to see you?
    Lots of love Me.

Is it? plus if I do email that he'll freak out and probably never talk to me again right?

Pfff, just send the email, but with big letters on top, I HAD A DREAM after which you explain why you send it etc. I'm sure he'll apreciate your concern.

As for randomness, I spend 3,5 hours getting home today, thanks to a derailed freight train that caused a chemical spill. This was near a trainstation on my route, and all traffic to and from the station was halted.

As it turned out it wasn't as bad as intially thought, no big chemical spill or anything, but it did cause a big chaos, as it is an important trainstation with lots of trains coming through. Lots of people were stranded.

You dont need to descirbe your dream.....if you could just keep it general...and see what he replies.....you would know he is ok........as you just need to know his well being...........so it need not be explicit.

I wonder how long I am going try my method of “Staying up as late as possible, so I'll be dead tired the next day; so I'll go to bed early next evening" until I am convinced that it is not working. Because, by now, I should know that the only thing I accomplish is sleeping until noon and going to bed late all over again.

So that you don't disrupt the "real" work that goes on in your company!!

Seriously we always get emails telling us the server will be down at all kinds of weird hours and I always wonder how the IT guys feel about that?

"real" how can they get "real" work done if they can't remember their password?

...but for the odd hours...I bet they feel like this "why me God?...Why do we have a bad server? why does our boss think that "dilbert is a management guide not a satire???
